  1. Thanks, I'll try it! Now that I'm reminded of them, I'd kinda like to see them again! I certainly spent a lot of time with them for a year or so.
  2. Very cool, thanks! I think I may be out of luck. I re-downloaded the app, but I guess it's been too long since I last used it, as it doesn't recognize my log-in credentials, and doesn't send a message when I try to reset the password. It's been at least two years or more since I logged in, maybe more like 3, so I guess I'm out of luck. It's a shame, I remember having some really neat cards. Oh well, good luck with the sales!
  3. Opening up the app, I hope I don't get sucked back into this! A question for you, as it's been several years since I've sold any of these; when the buy pays, they'll include their user id, and then you "trade" them the card. In the past, I think I usually had to select a common dupe of theirs to trade for the card they purchased. Is that still the case, or has trading changed? Or do I have to grab a card from them at all?
  4. I was really into the Topps Marvel App about three years ago. Spent a lot of time on there trading cards and trying to finish sets. At the time I was also selling and buying cards on eBay, but eventually I got tired of it, and sort of forgot about it. I'll have to check my account, I should still have several hundred cards in there. Maybe it's time to list 'em!
  5. Absolutely. One of my favorite series, a top five all timer. A pseudo sci-fi/noir becomes an epic, centuries spanning meditation on the contagious nature of evil. A host of great artists throughout the run. Criminals, werewolves, vampires, post-apocalypse, it's all in there.
  6. Awesome pick-ups for a garage sale! I got out of MASK a couple of years ago, but it’s always tempting to get back in, as it’s very cool stuff.
  7. Cool! I’m sure it’ll be solid. I’ve usually enjoyed Johns’ DC stuff, and Gary Frank is great, so I will raise my expectations!
  8. New printing of Morrison’s Animal Man Omni hit. I sold my first print when they announced this one, as it was OOP and selling well. The gamble paid off, as I sold that one for over $100, then bought this one for $48. The system works! I also grabbed these Doomsday Clock volumes on clearance from IST, came out to about $20 for the set. I really didn’t have much interest in DC’s continued crass exploitation of the Watchmen property, but this set caught my eye with the slipcase. For the price, it was an attractive design. I guess we’ll see if the story is any good or not.
  9. Great finds! I haven’t been to Dragon Con for about 10 years, but used to find great stuff there. And for meeting pros it was the best, because comics are just one small part of what that show is all about, so a lot of the time you can just walk right up to legends and superstars without any sort of wait. It was great. I miss it, but it finally got too big for me.
  10. A rerun from my CG post, picked up some books at a horror convention today, including this Dave goodness. I actually didn't have the Micra book, with the Dave posters ad on the back. The rest go in my dupes pile.
  11. I was at a horror convention today, and didn't even have comics on the brain. After meeting some folks, getting some autographs and pics, etc, I was walking the floor, and found a single booth with comics. And oddly enough, the prices were great! I already had all of these Dave books, but for $1-$5 a pop, I couldn't leave em behind. And at these prices I grabbed dupes on some titles. For instance, the uglier copy of Death Rattle was just $2, so it had to come home as well! Makes me wonder what I may have missed Fri/Sat. Oh well. (Jubblies have been tastefully censored, using my advanced graphic design skillz)
  12. Oh for sure! I try to focus on vintage, but every once I a while something new will pop up that I just can’t say no to.
  13. It’s hit or miss for me. I have a ton of alerts set up for very specific things that I’m looking for, and every once in a while a winner will pop up.
  14. I totally understand the arguments of those who don’t like the figures, with the 5 POA and all. Personally I don’t mind that, since the sculpts are so cartoon accurate. But again, at that price, it’s just hard to swallow.
  15. New printing of the Brightest Day Omni arrived today. Missed this one back in the day, been waiting a long time!
  16. Scored this lot on eBay for $4.50 plus shipping. Only needed the DHP 140, and it’s a steal at that price. Decent copy!
  17. And finally, I got around to picking up the second Macready figure from The Thing. I’d been planning on getting him for a while, but hadn’t been in a huge hurry as it’s basically the same figure as the first, with different accessories. And it’s the accessories that sell it. You can recreate the blood test scene in the comfort of your own home! The only problem: these pieces are TINY. For instance, the hand, blood effect, and the Petri dish are three separate pieces, and they don’t snap together into place, so the stuff just falls apart instantly. I am actually thinking about gluing them together, which would be a sin, but there’s almost zero chance I don’t lose these bits in a few days. PS: the flamethrower is very nice as well.
  18. Next up, the Reaction Pyramid of Darkness set. Now, I really love the idea of this line, with the Sunbow likenesses and deep cut character selection. But the problem, again. Is the price. Roughly $18 a pop, and 6 to 9 army builders per wave, it’s a bit much. However, I am all in for as many of these episode specific sets as they want to make. This one pushes nostalgia buttons hard. Love it. And the packaging is beautiful as well.
  19. Some goodies showed up this week. First up, some of the SDCC Super7 GI Joe stuff. This is the first GI Joe Ultimates figure to hit collectors’ hands, and it’s a mixed bag. A comic colored blue variant B.A.T. with comic-accurate head sculpt. First, the bad: *the thing that is potentially keeping me away from this line is the price. $55 per figure, about $220 per wave of four figures…that’s a spicy meatball! *quality control: not sure if it’s just my figure, or if it will affect them all, but there are several small QC issues. The main head bobbles around on his neck like a bobble head. The clips on the backpack are slightly warped and don’t easily snap into place on his shoulders. The hand attachments don’t clip perfectly into the backpack. The legs are a little loose. The rifle is a softer rubber and the barrel is bent. Now any one of those wouldn’t be a big deal, but collectively, in light of the price point, it’s a concern. The good: This thing is a blast to play with and pose. Paint apps are excellent. Packaging is great. Accessories are great. And most of all, it’s just such a large, satisfying chunk of plastic to play with! So, will I collect the line? Unsure, but at this point the size and fun factor are narrowly outweighing the cons. Hopefully the regular wave will have better QC. I’m wondering if these were rushed out of the factory for SDCC, in need of a few more tweaks.
  20. I'm afraid I have no new information, but I'd love to see them if you ever wanted to share a pic, that sounds very cool! Update: just found them on ebay, very cool!
  21. yes, I do something similar, in that I will begin the item description with "Being relisted due to deadbeat buyer" or something like that. I've also got 100% feedback on my account going back to '98, so you just got me there ha. But yeah, reputations will hopefully offset any feelings that there's something fishy going on.
  22. It seems to just be how things are nowadays. Everything is a performance. Everyone is always ON. Social media has given everyone an outlet, and this is how they've decided to use it. Modesty, shame, these are not valuable commodities in the modern world. I guess I can see value in it if people DO reach out and get help they need, but all in all there seems to be a complete lack of sincerity in the world. Everyone thinks they're famous.
  23. And not just that. I'm always concerned that when I have to relist an item (sometimes THREE TIMES due to multiple deadbeats) that it's going to take on an air of "damaged goods", or that people will think there's something shilly going on. Maybe I'm just paranoid, and hopefully my reputation is strong enough to offset any concerns, but it's definitely in the back of my mind when I go to relist an item yet again.
