  1. Bought some great looking Spidey books and a McFarlane Slab. Great prices/shipping/packaging. Thanks Frank!
  2. Yeah I looked again today and the ones I found were no where near the $850 price. I found it in OSPG for $7 so somebody is a little off.. But as the the rarity is the 5,000 printed a good number?
  3. I was reading through the first few pages of the thread and the Maximum Carnage Harcover book that came with the acclaim game was mentioned. I didn't know it was considered rare or anything like that. As a barometer I looked at eBay and found one going for $850 ( I know, such a good barometer). I remember my Mom getting this for me as a kid for Christmas. To stop me from getting it on my own she told me I couldn't because it was "too violent". I even tried showing her the comics and show here that Carnage wasn't a really violent character. I looked and I still have the book, three pins, the box, but no game.
  4. Another great transaction with Brian. This time I bought a stack of ASMs from him. Great packing and communications Thanks a bunch Wes

  6. So what is the trick to getting a JSC sketch? Do i need to send my better looking half over to him to get it or can it happen with a regular mug like mine? Good looking sketch BTW
  7. Got this commission from Brandon Peterson a few years ago. His announcement went out and I think I responded in 10 minutes.. figured I could ask forgiveness from my wife Here is another commission I got from Sara Richard last year. I know it is on a pair of blank covers but I still say it counts

  14. I like this thread.. has some great info on how to approach and view the creators at conventions.. the one thing I had a question about was what about dealing with creators in the real world? I recently found out that one of my neighbors is a comic artist. She has done a ton of covers for Marvel, Dark Horse, and some Anime stuff. I found out by ordering a print from her and when I gave her my address she thought I was joking. So of course I would like to try and get some sketches or a commission from her. I would think that just shooting her an e-mail and seeing what she says it probably the best answer but I wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else has had this kind of experience.
  15. Here is a wiki article on the book: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Try-out_Book And Brian is right it is the same size as a regular OA page. The first three pages are all finished penciled, inked, colored, and lettered. The rest of the pages are section off for colors, inks, letters, plots, and pencils. Mark Bagley was the biggest name to come out of the competition for the book. I should have taken a pic of it with another book to get a perspective on the size.
  16. Pulled this off of E-Bay with my last $15. I have had one of the OA pages from this book for a number of years now (Got it in an auction with some McFarlane signed Spider-Man #1's.. I think a girlfriend/wife was cleaning house). It is the same size as a regular OA page so I have no idea how to really protect it.
  17. Kudos right back at ya! Thanks for the great Spidey book!
  18. you trying to get me in trouble with my wife or something? she'll take one look at your pics and start up with the "why can't your room be that neat?" and "why do you have to have all those boxes stacked up everywhere?" but seriously, that's one classy set-up. i often say i'm going to get my act together and get organized/streamlined/minimalist but i'm old enough now to know that's not gonna happen. Yeah my wife is very minimalist so I've been kinda forced to do it. This is just a work area for myself. I am normally behind two or three month on scanning my comics I get. So with 30 or so new ones a month x2 or 3 it becomes a big pile. I still have my three filing cabinets and four long boxes upstairs. So this is just a facade.
  19. Nothing right now. The idea is that they will be my interim boxes as I scan in my new books. I end up having stacks everywhere as I'll get a few month behind reading and scanning. Once Kid/s start coming I'm going to have to move my filing cabinets to a storage facility so I'll need a place to hold them out of the way.
  20. My wife and I started rearranging some of the rooms and my old office got moved down to the old living room that moved upstairs... anyway with the new office we are putting together a little comic corner. I've said it before Melissa rocks for letting me put comic stuff out in the open. The next phase is to put up some art and frames.
