  1. I finally got around to slabbing some at WW Chicago this weekend. Like any submission I expected some to come back higher but also some to come back lower so overall I was pretty happy with the results.

    Some sweet copies.

Thanks for the kind words and the great work you did on these with short notice! The 2 Howard the Ducks were previously slabbed 8.0's that Joey fixed up along with the rest.
  2. Does Five Below count here?!

Killer Croc, nice pick up ;-) just in time for the buzz

Nice find! Going to have to add 5 Below to my list of places to hit on the weekends

Thanks for sharing and the heads up!

No problem, I stopped in with my daughter while running around shopping and went through about 30 multipacks when I saw that one. Tuesday Morning is another discount store where you can find some oddball collectibles-usually toys or statues.

  3. Nothing huge but not bad for 8 bucks at the flea market. Adam Hughes, Power Girl, Dave Stevens, DC Bombshell, Gamestop exclusive, SLG, old school valiant and a Marvel Legends reprint.

Sorry, there weren't any transformers around! I picked up some old school slu's but no one care's about 1989 NFL these days :foryou:

    Gone to Rosemont?

Not this time, went to the Wilmot flea market in Wisconsin for the first time ever. Interesting trip haha!

  5. Found this little book today at a small con in Milwaukee today.

    That is amazing :golfclap:

And I might add, quite unusual for an underground/indie publication to have a preview with those remarks on the cover regarding print runs and collectability attributions. While I recall the late 80s as being over saturated with S+N editions. I dont recall seing too many previews with those remarks. Whats the size of this book?

It's about the size of a paperback novel, obviously not nearly as thick though.

Was this one of the epguides shows?

Yep, the Clarion Hotel show by the Milwaukee airport. There were maybe 7 dealers in a small ballroom but tons of attendees for the size of the room. Nice selection for the size.

  7. Found this a few weeks ago at the Volo Antique Mall here in Northern Illinois (for those who know it). The greatest thing about finding this book is that it was in an area I usually avoid in this antique mall. That area always has sheet music/dishware/furniture. But on this day there was a large group that forced me to go the long way around. I started to walk around and then I found this.

  8. I've ordered only once from them with mixed feelings.

I ordered the renew your vows 3 color variant at 9.99 a pop, I looked it up again a few days later and saw that the price had jumped to 19.99 or more (don't recall exactly). It reminded me of the boba fett action figure variant price jump cash grab which was none too popular here on the boards.

On the bright side I did get my copies for the 9.99 price- in good shape, packaged well and on time.

  9. I am ignorant about this but why are the 35 centers more expensive then the 30 centers? I know they are both rare but..........

    On ebay

    +-CGC&_from=R40|R40&_osacat=12590&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X35+cent+variant%2c+-CGC.TRS0&_nkw=35+cent+variant%2c+-CGC&_sacat=12590'>ebay 35 cent

I believe there were fewer test market cities for the 35 centers as well as a shorter duration. Also, they are much tougher to distinguish from the regular versions compared to the 30 centers which often had a gaudy starburst surrounding the price. Still there are some 30 centers that are as tough if not tougher than 35 centers to find.

  10. The last two days saw a lot of action on ebay auctions from a seller out of florida, unfortunately I didn't win anything- is the seller a boardie?

    Those were some nice books.

That Black Panther copy surprised me. Wow.
