Yeah conventions have to count that's where I found my ASM 172 that came back 9.6. Id say though I don't find as many at
conventions anymore. Too much competition. Most of mine are found in oddball places and flea markets now.I will never forget a complete set of X-Men 35 centers I let go years ago. They are still sitting in a guys collection in Canada. I bet he still doesn't know he has them.

Or move to Baltimore . . .
Or San Antonio
! 30 centers are a much easier spot and grab.
Oddly enough my last pv find in the wild was an Iron Man 100 wall book at Graham Crackers in St. Charles. Do conventions count as an in the wild find?

Awesome find. How much was it going for?
A lot
I knew this was a solid book when I pulled the trigger but after catching up with this thread I didn't realize how much drama is attached to it. I'm generally drawn to unusual books, price variants, double covers, errors, recalled, rrp's, and the like. Along with this I have an Uncanny X-men 423 error, JTHM 1 1st, GI Joe 63 So Much Fun, and more off the beaten path books getting graded along with it. I paid the asking price.

Official Request: please have a new thread created for Image Newsstand Variants? I think we can all agree on the fact that they should have their own thread and leave us to our own devices?

That's a really nice find! A top two modern isn't often seen on a wall.
Are you going to slab or leave raw ?

Thanks, I sent it in and will post the result when I get it back!

I'll be setting up for the first time here, I've heard good things-hopefully it's a solid show!

Very nice. Arguably the toughest of them all - I've never seen one in the wild. I've seen all other 30 centers in long boxes or on the wall. Not that bad boy.
Looks amazing, from the pic I can't see why it graded that low?

Wow very nice, a raw copy. Looks great too! Is it as minty fresh in person as it looks in the pic?
-J.
It stopped me dead in my tracks on the way to the parking garage on sunday afternoon in Chicago. Never seen this book on a wall before and had to pull the trigger, very glad that I did.

I picked up a few books at Half Price Books today. There should be a law against them putting price stickers on unbagged books
Can someone call corporate and put an end to this?
I haven't found anything on the Resistance2 book online other than an offer in a video game for a digital version so I took a chance on it. Does anyone know more about this book? I tend to go to Lone Star but they don't have anything on this.

I always make sure that the board that was "cut into" is not the board directly touching my book because I'm OCD like that. I have a fear that the book could "catch" on the cut board and drop the grade. Watching this video was tough seeing how cavalier he was handling the book and dropping it into the bag

Hulk 180 has the best potential imho, the first real wolverine and vastly undervalued.

Yes, there's probably less than 30 known copies and a great find.

This is in Tennessee, one of the known 35 cent markets.
Ebay closed 8/7/16 http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Star-Wars-Marvel-Comics-1-1977-/142078167279?hash=item211484c8ef:g:dlEAAOSw6n5XpzsE followed by Grade date of 8/15/16 for one copy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-1-35-Cent-Price-Variant-CGC-Universal-Grade-5-5-/142097868172?hash=item2115b1658c%3Ag%3Au%7E0AAOSwFc5Xv2v6&nma=true&si=ny%252BuZh0lw413aNN%252BiNODbFU9QTk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 .
I imagine they had a lucky score, sold cheap on the initial auction and probably had 30 buyers email them within hours offering more. Cancelled sale, taking the neg while original ebay winner leaves a neg for not getting the deal of a lifetime http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=endic_us2014&&_trksid=p2047675.l2560&rt=nc&iid=142078167279&sspagename=VIP%3Afeedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller
Apologies for horrible formatting!

There are 3 versions.
The most plentiful is the direct edition with the starburst for 25 cents and both "Direct Edition" and 0.25 printed in the upc box.
The next is the newsstand version with no starburst and is priced at 2.25 in the upc box without the term "Direct Edition". This copy is uncommon to say the least.
The last is thought to be an error presuming that there were some issues printed mid stream changing from the direct edition to the newsstand graphics with both the 25 cent starburst and 2.25 printed in the upc box. Exceedingly difficult.

The problem with that book is it causes me to check copies in my various lcs that I've already checked who knows how many times before.
It just takes that one new collection to walk through one of those doors to make that persistence pay.
Thanks guys, I have been looking for this for years. I found this one mid-afternoon on the Sunday of a 3 day local convention which I think goes to show that you never know where a find will happen! I grabbed 20 or so $1 books along with it but this book made my weekend.

I'm Mexican and every Mexican that I know in my age range loves Speedy Gonzales. Is it racist and use stereotypes? Yes.
Don't care. LULAC supports Speedy and so do I. SJW's be d here's the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedy_Gonzales
EDIT: FYI LULAC is the Latino/Mexican version of NAACP. Upvote if you learned something new today!
