That's the only difference, but they're quite uncommon. Last time I checked there were less than 10 known examples. As far as I know, no one has determined exactly where this book came from or its origin. Everyones first response is that it "probably" came from a toy, but that hasn't been substantiated yet to my knowledge.

It's coming back blue label 9.2, pretty stoked-expected 8.5-9.0. Next time paper airplane! I have some other cool rarities coming back on that same invoice! Man of Steel 18 5th 9.8, phonogram recalled 9.8 and UXM 303 pressman 9.8!

being antsy is half the fun, also i suppose seeing the dates from others gives us an idea of when we can expect to get our individual verdicts.

Every Marvel Legend reprint I've seen advertises the toy line in some way. This is identical to the regular issue except for the cover. I think cgc should've labeled it "no price" variant rather than "logo" variant. I finally replaced the copy I traded away! More details to come (hopefully)...

My 2 cents. Walking Dead 1 is an abnormality. It has consistently beat the odds. Every time I thought it had peaked, it has just kept on going. I've stopped betting against it.
The fact is that it is a crazy hot book. It has brought excitement and a fever to the comic community that has been absent for a long time. IMHO, we, as readers/collectors/traders or whatever you want to label yourself as-should be happy that for once we have a book that BRINGS IN NEW READERS.
Has it driven up the price? Sure. I think the biggest point is that if it prolongs the lifespan of our lcs and floppies, then I'm on board and you should be too.
I still think kirkman up with 100 though, a lot of people didn't dig it.

I'm hoping for 9.6 ss at nycc-we'll see!

Here's the old photobucket scans
-
I'm pretty sure that the scan is of the copy that I found in Chicago. I posted about it here, the st louis boards and fwoosh to no avail. Myself and mschmidt (when i lived in the chicago area) examined it and compared it closely, page by page to a regular edition. There were no differences besides the cover differences noted that either of us could find, or apparently metarog. I pm'd beachbum to see if he had any info on it since he is the defacto x-men expert.
I sent him the scans, and then ended up trading it to him at c2e2 (first year I believe). Metarog also had a copy and none of us have, up to this point, figured out exactly what it was or where it came from or why it exists to my knowledge.
CGC ended up calling it a logo variant, Dre ended up getting a 9.8 out of it and we are all left with an interesting mystery.

To beat a dead horse...
aside from 2nd printings, there wasn't a variant until 25 (df which wasn't really a variant, just a handful signed), then 50. From 75 till now there have been a mess ton of variants (75, 80, 81, 85, 87,100,101). 20 or so variants in the last 25 issues? I'm about ready to cut the series off myself. That and the art, dragging on of storylines has put me at the end of my rope.

Conan...grrrr! Nope, ccl my friend-

Only the confusion of the black letter/white letter mature readers warning. Other than that, nope.

Geez, I didn't realize this had picked up! I picked this up about 8 months ago.

In Floppies? Quite a bit. At least these:
Walking Dead #1
Walking Dead #1 Special Edition
Image Firsts 3/10
Image Firsts 9/10
Image Firsts 4/11
Walking Dead Weekly #1
(I may have missed one or two)
And Walking Dead Weekly 1 Arizona con, maybe image first 2005 if it's not considered a trade.
