  1. I was watching Snipers thread too. That was a lot of fun. I was waiting on the #19 and tried to rush my bid in but absolutely choked. I think I hit a smiley face instead of "I'll take it" and clicked preview post instead of submit. I remember laughing out loud at my miserable failure. That's the closest I've come to getting a #19. for the ones posted so far.
  2. That Everett Target is one of my favorites. Looks like Sub Mariner on a horse. Your copy is nice, Ameri. A few years ago, I was looking hard to get one of these and almost all the copies I saw had a real pronounced bleed through on the horses chest of a gyroscope (from an inside front cover ad). I think one of Metro's copies was the only high grade one I saw with no bleed through.
  3. Thanks Flex. Blind Owl, that Heshka painting, like the others I've seen posted on the boards, is spectacular.
  4. No blazing beauties like the others but a couple of Schomburg Excitings that I like.
  5. Both of those books are awesome. On the very short list of great Centaurs. Congrats on a special book Flex.
  6. I like this one a lot. It looks like a pulp cover.
  7. I think you're now on Mr. Illmannered's mess list.
  8. Amazing, isn't it! Who knew we'd love a soap? And those backgrounds Definitely some great backgrounds. Also, I say it's not a soap until Mary has an evil twin.
  9. I just finished the first 4 volumes of Mary Perkins On Stage a week or so ago. Not something I would normally read, but anything that Scrooge liked so much had to be good. Great art and entertaining stories. Starr really does an excellent job in getting the reader to care what happens to Mary. Looking forward to the rest.
  10. I like this cover. That guy sure doesn't look like he's enjoying farm life though.
  11. Thanks. It's hard to go wrong with EC's (though I haven't read MD or Psychoanalysis yet).
  12. Nice Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers. Also agree with AS on Dell cover painters. Would love to get an original some day.
  13. Here are a couple I got a while ago. Thanks to the boardies that recommended Valor earlier in this thread. A very enjoyable series and too bad it only ran 5 issues.
  14. I got this one in a few days ago. 4 of the 5 stories had to do with killing your spouse. I liked the Maneely one best.
  15. Very cool Mysterious Adventures (inside and out).
  16. Maybe not one of the hottest books, but definitely one of the coolest. I'd love to get one some day.
  17. Beautiful! Those Mary Marvel collectors. Two spectacular books.
  18. I'll keep this thread alive with a couple of Duke books. 2 western threads on the first page.
  19. You could have gotten a full run of Tonto for the price of that puppy I have a feeling the Tonto's will still be there. Thanks for the comments guys. I've been real lucky with Centaurs in the last month, getting 3 of the top 10 covers from my list in the "top 20 Centaur covers" thread.
  20. I'm happy to finally get one of these.
  21. I know what you mean. By the way, the scene from the cover of Death Valley #2 is part of one of the stories.
  22. Plenty of violent pre-code western stories in Death Valley #1 and #2. A lot of different ways to die in these books. The first issue is all Andru/Esposito and the second issue is all Heck. I enjoyed the stories and art in both of them with the exception of a few "face" problems by Heck.
