  1. Some nice high graders there. I haven't read any Rin Tin Tin's but read and really enjoyed the first 40 or so Lassie's (thanks to a purchase from Scrooge).
  2. Interesting stuff on the Reform School Girl. I never paid attention to any of the release/publication dates before and just assumed the comic was based on the movie.
  3. Don't beat yourself up. I'm sure you're picking up really nice copies in the Silver run. The Tonto's aren't hard to come by either. For more eye-burning experience, here's my morning read: Gene Autry 9 from 1947. The combo of a Western photo cover and Jesse Marsh interior art is sure to please Tim Truth be told, I enjoyed it I don't usually buy photo covers but this one gave me the idea of putting together a little collection of the "top ten" worst shirt covers of Gene and Roy. I spent a while going through GCD and had to quit because I couldn't narrow it down. I'll give it another try later on though.
  4. Those are great Arkadin. Thanks for the pics and the info.
  5. A very cool book and a great looking copy too.
  6. I have the Larson - it has a few problems and doesn't come close to comparing to JB's Church copy, but it's a favorite nonetheless. I just did a search and saw where you posted your copy. What a great book. I'm surprised you haven't sold it to Metro yet.
  7. I've never met him but have definitely enjoyed the pics of his collection and knowledge of Centaurs, etc... that he's shared on the boards.
  8. metro has bought many many copies of fantastic 3... Early fox books are relatively scarce anyway. I've owned 3 copies in last 2 years so they are out there but mostly mid grade or restored I think I remember jbcomicbox showing an awesome copy of Fantastic #3 a while ago. I think it was the Church or Larson.
  9. For some stupid reason I was waiting to finish my Hi-Yo Silver run before I started collecting the Tonto's. I'm really kicking myself after seeing this post.
  10. Never see books from that run in above VF. Definitely two new ones to my want list. Thanks for the pics inside and out Scrooge and adamstrange.
  11. What a great book and even though it's not the same pose, it reminds me of the photo you recently posted of you and your son in front of a comic shop.
  12. Thanks for the info. I just ordered one and am looking forward to it.
  13. :applause:Those are awesome. Also, if we're voting, I'll take old books over ebooks every time.
  14. Thanks guys, I'm very happy to finally get one and will be cracking it out to read if I don't get a reader copy soon.
  15. Congrats on completing the Thrilling Crime Cases run. Looking forward to the group shot.
  16. I finally got a Western Picture Stories #1 to go along with my Star Ranger #1. It's odd that CGC notes "1st" western on the Star Ranger label but "First" western on the WPS label. (excuse the crummy lighting) If anyone knows, I'd love to find out if one of these hit the stands a week or two before the other.
  17. Here's to a successful weekend at the box office.
  18. Double Damn! Love these copies, much better than mine of the same! What a great looking book. My favorite of the three Everett Venus covers.
  19. Cool books. I never know what to call the books before the "Atlas Globe" appears on the covers. They go from the Marvel Bullet (?) to nothing, then to the globe. I assume the ones with nothing are considered Atlas but I've seen some with the Marvel notation listed as Marvel and Atlas by CGC. Each of the following show Interstate Publishing as publisher.
  20. Didn't know that. Thanks BZ! +1. Interesting info BZ. Here's my only pick-up from the Ruben Blades books auctioned last year. Plenty of great books but too many with brittle pages.
  21. Cool, thanks for the scans. Look forward to reading it when I get a copy.
  22. That makes sense but Lady Doom does look like she may be familiar with the use of a whip.
  23. I like this one a lot (adamstrange's is ok too). I wonder what the "W" on the wheel near Holts shoulder stands for? I guess wagon or water.
  24. WOW! What an awesome bunch of Atlas books Scrooge. I'd love to have a quarter of those someday. They put out so many cool books, there's hardly an Atlas book made that I wouldn't like to have in my collection.
  25. That's a cool cover Marty, even though I've been slightly creeped out by Hopalong Cassidy ever since I saw the movie Fade To Black as a kid. I think I'll get this one though.
