  1. I like the thin line backgrounds also and they always make me think of Maneely. This is one of my favorite Severin covers and it's a beaut of a copy.
  2. From Tom Mix Comics #1. More like a history than an origin and since it's in print, it must all be true.
  3. Too bad about the brittle pages but I agree the cover looks great.
  4. I like this Schwab cover. Reminds me of the D Ryan covers. The Ruben Blades collection had one of these with a great Schwab sig in the lower right but I think it had brittle pages.
  5. I'd be careful displaying this one in Germany. You'll be lucky if someone doesn't throw a rock at it. Cool travel picks as always.
  6. I like this Maneely saguaro cover and here's the Matt Baker/ Stan Lee story from inside.
  7. Thanks guys! I have those issues scanned because I was getting them donw for the Fantagraphics book or I picked them up somewhat recently. I started scanning my Cole collection (which pretty much is my GA collection) and I think I stopped alphabetically around H or I. So I haven't gotten to all of my TTLR or Top Love or Popular Teen-Agers, let alone School Day Romances or a few other titles. No, I haven't found a copy of Sex, Marriage and Love Customs Around the World yet. The last one on ebay went for stupid $$$ and I think I had just picked up a few other books. I've done good this year though, a bunch of HTF books including a Suspense #4 so I can't complain! I happen to think these 2 are pretty rare: Cool books and I don't think I've seen the #2 before.
  8. I was happy. I sent two in, and figured both were 8.0 +/-. The other was graded 7.5 white with less of a miswrap.
  9. Thanks, pmpknface. He did get a hold of me but mine were getting graded at the time. By the way, I love all the Cole covers you've been posting here and in the Cole thread.
  10. This is a Kinstler cover. He did a lot of these I.W. reprint covers. Some covers are re-used from different comics but I believe some are original covers also (not sure though).
  11. What a bunch of great books posted in the last day or so.
  12. There are some good ones That was quick. Some good ones there and a few I haven't seen before.
  13. Congrats! That didn't take long! I can see one problem here - you don't have an MRA 50 anymore... :: (or maybe you do?) Been watching this thread for a long time and was wondering when people were going to start spilling the secret cool books MRA 49 is another very neat one, which I personally prefer over 50 (which obviously has the crossover horror appeal). I have a 49, but it's hard to find these books for sale (Technically, "Romantic Adventures" without the "My") I know one boardie with a nice, upper grade copy of this one, but I've never seen a truly high grade copy. Anyone? (Great girl fight cover. The interior art is really good, too.) That's a great cover. I think I saw Flex post a higher grade one for sale (or maybe it was a sales thread tease?). I have posted this before - cant recall when. Not quite a match for adamstrange's copy, but I think it was harshly dealt with by CGC for an almost invisible moisture stain on the back cover. My impression is it's a fairly tough book And peanuts in the guide. Andy is correct - this one isnt going anywhere! Best "catfight" cover out there? Arguably? A great book with my favorite comic defect, "an almost invisible moisture stain on the back cover". You'd have a real high grade copy if, instead of the stain, it had big bindery chips, dust shadows, a miscut and a miswrap? Also, if this isn't the best "catfight" cover, I'd like to know what is.
  14. Thanks, Scrooge. I'd like to see the early Red Ryder reprinted also. I've never heard of Jerry Spring before but like what little I could see from internet searches (after sifting through the Jerry Springer items). I was aware of the Giraud Blueberry books but haven't read them yet. Are there any good English reprints of Jerry Spring or Blueberry that you would recommend? The only French I know is "ooo-la-la". Marvel put out reprints of a couple grand Blueberry sagas. Here's a one volume in a slightly smaller size: http://www.amazon.com/Blueberry-Saga-Confederate-Gold/dp/1885418086/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1406432628&sr=1-1&keywords=blueberry+giraud I prefer the larger albums but you'll have to buy 5 of them to get the story in the link above. Anything Blueberry by Giraud that I've read has been very enjoyable. Thanks. I look forward to reading them and would prefer the larger ones. I'll have to start hunting.
