  1. The same seller has 17 books at $2000 each with no description at all. Title, photo or anything. They will accept offers though.
  2. Not Bethlehem's, but a couple that jimjum graciously parted with. This Maneely cover on the JIUW reminds me of the dining room scene with grandpa in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
  3. A favourite with most Atlasheads. Congrats. Nice one. I love the expression on the skeleton in the foreground and the one in the purple trench coat looks like a flasher.
  4. This is one of my favorite threads and I hate seeing it on page 8. Here's the cover story to Keen Detective Funnies #20. (Ralph Mooney sure staked his claim to this book, including the cover).
  5. Thanks for posting all the Straight Arrows Scrooge. I never gave them much notice before but they're definitely something I'll look out for now. That #55 really stands out..
  6. That's a great Scrooge page. I also like the playlist, especially the two Platters songs.
  7. Agreed- all three are great choices. The TAT not just for the quality of Baker's work, but the total sleaziness, as the guy is clearly drawn to look at least twice the girl's age. Even the title "Teen-Age Temptations" has an undeniable jailbait quality to it. The Cinderella Love cover clearly shows a "Cinderella" scenario, and for the PTSoL, how can you not love a Cole "snow" cover. Thanks guys. I wonder if the girl in the TAT is a high school or college student? It could be an innocent situation though. The man could be her father and he's just carrying his daughter home after she twisted her ankle in the parade. That's probably what Baker really intended.
  8. Here's half of my romance collection (picked up the Bakers in the Heritage auction).
  9. Thank you Chris! Lurk no more, you've outed yourself! How's that Buffalo Picture Stories #1 holding up? I still remember the vivid colors on that book with great fondness. I'll be a semi-lurker and the Buffalo Bill's a keeper.
  10. Dr.Love, that's the kind of post that makes this forum so great. I'm a romance "lurker" but am starting to pick up a few here and there. The enthusiasm and shared knowledge of the regular posters in the romance threads is much appreciated.
  11. what issue number??? wow!!!!!!!! i want to frame the book with this historical newspaper. What better to combine your love of comics and WWII history thanks sfcityduck V3#3. A nice one just sold on Heritage.
  12. A nice run of these Scrooge. I haven't read the White Indian stories yet, but they're on my list. The #18 is my favorite of the covers you posted. Also, compared to the rest, that #15 monster cover sure seems out of place.
  13. Some nice covers in that 30's run of Straight Arrow. I just saw that Overstreet notes issues 11, 24, 39 and 40 as having "classic stories".
  14. Another favorite with the complete cover story.
  15. Here's one of my favorite PCH covers. First and last pages of the cover story also.
  16. That's one heck of an awesome group shot.
  17. Thanks, and I like the centerfold the best too.
  18. Here are some photos I took of the interior of Western Picture Stories #1 before I had it slabbed. Excuse the poor lighting and the thumbs. An early story by a 20 year old Will Eisner.
  19. I like those Meagher Straight Arrow covers. The white background ones stand out the most to me. Also, I'm pretty sure I've never seen a comic with a guy trying to murder a horse with a knife. Great stuff.
  20. Nice one. I like the date stamp too.
  21. It's from a 2 page "Story About the Cover" (text story) , not a lame attempt at humor on my part.
  22. They're not robots, but descendants of Atlantis. Atlantis was torn from the earth during a hurricane and became a planet.
