  2. Great group shot. I think you'll need at least a two story house and a big yard when you eventually get to the Four Color group shot.
  3. The last panel of the page shows the soldier crawling into the building.
  4. I haven't seen that Red Heart Lassie before. I had to look it up in Overstreet to see that it was Lassie's first app. in a comic.
  5. I've always liked the painted covers but haven't read any yet. Are they good reads? If yes, I'll move them up higher on my looooong list of comics to buy/read. Hmm, it might be best to show a sample or two. I recall the story from #1 as being very good. Splash page from #1. These book features all comics, with no ads, right through to the back cover. The back cover of # 14 Thanks. (thumbs u

  7. Thanks again for all the posts Theagenes. It's not every day that I get to see a guy cut in half at the waist by a sword. This is such a great idea for a thread. Hopefully not the last of its kind.
  8. Thanks guys. I knew I had to get a BCM #45 when I first saw the Colorama story in one of the Tales Too Terrible To Tell series. One thing I never noticed on the MM #11 until I received it was that Baily showed the ant on the head with gold antannea, just like the creepy ant guy on Weird Mysteries #4. Too bad neither book has a story relating to the covers.
  9. Some recent pick-ups of some of my favorite covers.
  10. I agree, a great looking signature. I usually don't go for signed comics, but this is one I would love to have.
  11. It's been about 18 hours, right? Here's a Lone Ranger (#61) and a horsie book (#3)
  12. That would be like a day without Coco Puffs. I like a healthier breakfast, so I'll stick with Lucky Charms. Great Black Cat Westerns by the way.
  13. I like this one, less "hairy" than the original. I don't have one yet though. The way out of my league Church 9.8 is in the Feb Heritage auction. Is it sad that I understood your reference
  14. I usually crack em out, but I must confess that I have about 20 books in slabs. I've read or have downloads from Digital Comic Museum on all but 8. I'll eventually get downloads or under copies of those. That's a great article on Clayton Moore, frozentundraguy.

  16. I like it and this may be the closest you'll get to an EC "duck" book.
  17. I'd love to be able to buy low grade comics and not be compelled to upgrade them. One of these days...
  18. Thanks for the Hartman info Scrooge. I like the Lassie also. I'll have to get some of those. Here are a couple of my Hartman's I recently cracked out of holders but haven't read yet.
  19. I did the same thing with some Silver Age comics and books about 5 years ago to buy a Canon 500mm lens. Then I sold the lens about a year ago to buy Golden Age comics.
