  1. Those are some awesome books jb. I've never seen the WW 28 before. What a cool book.
  2. Congrats on the great book pmpknface. Super glossy cover also.
  3. Cool cover Scrooge. Do you know if it was intended to be printed mostly pink that way or was it some kind of printers mistake? Definitely would have stood out on the comic rack.
  4. Another excellent Cole romance cover that I haven't seen before (nice catch by someone on the swipe). The knight and castle seemed out of place until I figured it was the girl imagining the "shining knight " rescuing her. Or there could just be a story of a knight in the book.
  5. Thanks guys. I was looking for a decent copy for about two years and picked these up within 3 days of each other.
  6. Here are a couple I picked up early this year. One of them courtesy of drbanner. I'm very happy with each but the deeper purple stands out on the right copy.
  7. I picked these up a little more recently than Marty got his. I enjoyed the interior of the #255 but the #460 left alot to be desired (at least it has a pretty cover though).
  8. What an awesome copy of this cool book. I think there are alot of people that own "highest graded" books that are going to hate you if you ever slab your collection.
  9. Great books BB-Gun. I'd love to get a nice looking #3 some day. I can only dream about getting OA like that though.
  10. (thumbs u Great to deal with. Very securely packed, double boxed CGC book. Look forward to more of Rupp's sales threads.
  11. Some great DC's posted today guys. The early Western Comics and the Toth run of AAW have been on my want list for a while.
  12. Wow, 3rd Flash and 1st Ming. Great speceship action in the other one also.
  13. Great stuff BB-Gun. I especially like the full Flash/ Thimble Sundays with toppers. I never paid any attention to the Superman Sundays before but they look really good. There are plenty of great strip reprint books out lately but it's still cool to see the real Sunday pages.
  14. I always enjoy seeing your Atlas books zzutak. An awesome collection. I also never noticed that Uncanny Tales #53 before, but love it.
  15. I've been posting my westerns in the Shadow of the Atomic Age thread and completely forgot this one even existed. I've been so swamped with work and coaching a Little League team that comics have been on the back burner, but it's great to see so many cool westerns being posted lately. Here are a few more to keep the thread going. Tom Mix Western #9 Tom Mix Western #11 Tom Mix Comics #9 with an interior page of the brawl from the same issue.
  16. This reminds me of the Bill Ward cover to Torchy #5. Knight, cowboy, pirate, hot girl and a #5 also.
  17. My favorite PCH cover and this is the best I've seen. Awesome book. Your Black Cat #50 ain't to shabby either. I'll join the WM #4 parade also.
  18. That looks great Scrooge and only 8 to go. These, along with the African back covers were a real first rate project by Dell. I know GCD says Mo Gollub may have done some of these but I wonder if any boardies know for sure?
  19. #8-35. I like that these have specific people like Chief Joseph and Geronimo along with the Warrior 1, Warrior 2, etc...
  20. Amazing to see all of those together! I'm sloooowwwly working on the Indian Warrior back covers from The Lone Ranger but I'd love to see someone that has them already post a group shot.
  21. I know what you mean about the time and money. A lot of the EC's you've been posting are on my "to read" list. Luckily I can get reprints of all of those though. I'm kind of itching to give those Valors a try. I only own one Valor and liked it. that was a worthless post. Thanks for the link to the Brothers of the Spear. I read them the hard way ... from one issue to the next. I wouldn't call it a worthless post. That one book is 20% of the title. Also, getting recommendations from AJD and Adamstrange make it a no brainer.

  23. Good choices. I also like the third one in the top row because the mustache makes him stand out from the others. In case anyone cares, I found a website that reprints all of the Brothers of the Spear stories: http://www.erbzine.com/mag23/2350.html I've read up through the first few Russ Manning stories and recommend them so far. Now if I could just find a similar website for the Young Hawk stories from Lone Ranger I'd be a happier man.
  24. Another great group shot. On a different note, does anyone know if the Dic k Tracy stories of the 40's and early 50's from Super Comics or Dic k Tracy Monthly (Dell/Harvey) are all strip reprints?
