  5. Love this thread and finally have a pic to contribute
  6. I did the math (thank goodness for boring conference calls where you have nothing to contribute). Guess what? It adds up to about 83K just for the ASMs. I didn't even bother with the other ones, but they might make up the remaining 2K of the asking price. Me thinks he's going to have a hard time selling them in a bundle like this. Nice work
  7. I think the solution should lie in rewarding the honest sellers with business. Post counts or big money deals don't make someone a good seller just as being new to the boards doesn't make you a bad seller. It doesn't take much time in the sales forums to identify who the good sellers are if you are willing to look all of that up. Unfortunately this kind of information is scattered around the site so you do have to be somewhat familiar with it and have some spare time. I would think an easy way to go about this would be to for sellers to start posting how many kudos they have received in their first post in a sales thread. This way there is something that buyers can look for. If I have had 10 successful transactions then the buyer knows that at the very least there is a good chance that I'm going to hold up my end of the deal. If a new member is intent on selling I think they should be allowed but the buyers should be aware they are dealing with someone with no selling experience on the boards and caution should be taken. Something like this: Doing it this way would be simple to implement for anyone who wanted to use it. This way you don't have to jump through any hoops and can just start adding it in sales threads. It's by no means necessary but just a way to let people know that you have actually held up your end of the deal "X" amount of times. If enough people started using it it would at least give a buyer pause before posting an I'll take it in a sales thread where the seller is an unknown.
  8. Two in a row! Me thinks someone is starting to a new tune
  9. Right back at you, it was good seeing you today (thumbs u

  11. For some reason I really like collecting the annuals
  12. Mark's a great guy and always fun to talk to. I'm glad you like it
  13. Look - my point is really not that hard to grasp. If your sole purpose on the boards is to post endless streams of popcorn, other smileys, and photos you've stolen from failblog, well, yes, then you should be rightfully frowned upon. If you actually post something from time to time that isn't just a smiley, more power to you. Besides, everyone knows that "good luck with the sale" is a euphemism for "your prices are crazzzyy" Bingo, popcorn shows interest, "Nice books" says you're broke but you'd buy if you could, "Good luck with the sale" says you're overpriced (Thumbs u What's wrong with a little feedback for the seller? Errrr.I If I say "good luck with the sale, I'm merely giving good wishes I must have lost the board code handbook;) I don't really care one way or the other about posting in sales threads but every time I see the "good luck with the sale", I immediately think they are telling the seller you're way overpriced.

  19. Wow, I never knew that he was part of Fantazia. I remember back in 1988 I had ordered an ASM # 6 and #15 in NM with the money I made bagging groceries over the summer It was supposed to be my first big purchase, actually I guess it was since I did spend all of my money. I saved and saved to buy those books. In the end they never arrived I refused to buy comics through the mail after that. It's taken me 22 years to start buying comics in the mail again and I still don't have a #6 or #15. At least now I know who it was
  20. Dr Frankenstein would you please stop key word spamming on Ebay, all those raw books aren't "CGC"
