  1. In terms of underrated, here is something. Captain Marvel 1 was a Simon and Kirby product during their Captain America work in 1941. Strike that up to moonlighting to make some extra bucks without Timely knowing about it. The front cover is CC Beck but what I forgot is the back cover is by Kirby which are random panels from the interior. GCD pointed out something I never heard before. One of the stories features monsters from Saturn. Here is what GCD says about that and here is the thunder god page. "Thor Precursor. Shazam referred to as “Thunder God” and fights Aliens from Saturn. This motif used when Kirby co-created Thor in Journey Into Mystery (Marvel, 1952 series) #83 with Thunder God fighting Aliens from Saturn as per Comic Book Historians article researched by Alex Grand."
  2. A local artist did this for me. The art reminds me of Basil Wolverton.
  3. Got this one the other day. He drew many covers for this magazine from 1941-1949
  4. Couple of interesting things about the cover. Dracula's bride/victim bears a close resemblance to Vampirella which was 6 years later, and Grand Comic Database names L.B. Cole as the cover artist but with a question mark.
  5. This one came out in 2023. Archie & Friends #1
  6. 1966 tees. Vintage chocolate stain on the Thor shirt
  7. 1965 Disneyland cards and the completed puzzle
  8. Here's a strange thing I recently picked up. Someone took an oil can and made a lamp out of it. Some sources say that the Marvel Mystery Comics title was based on the oil can
  9. got this aurora kit recently and when built
  10. Couple of old Xmas light sets. The Mickey is from 1935.
  11. Got this May 1952 Goodman pulp today. EC artists Roy G. Krenkel and Al Williamson contributed. The cover is a closeup of the eye of a creature. The same creature was shown full figure on another pulp cover but I don't recall where I saw it. Does anyone know? Maybe it was a comic book cover?
  12. Thank you. This one was discarded and not published for Wheels of Dream. Schomburg was either asked to re-draw it based on editor comments or they just decided not to use a 2nd train sketch and then used the other train sketch that was in the group shot.
  13. These Alex Schomburg pencil roughs were my most memorable acquisitions this year. The finished products were published in the Asimov science fiction digests.
