  1. I'm assuming that's not the actual prop from the movie right?
  2. Rick, You might want to check out the EC Fan Addict page on FB... there is some speculation that the seller of these was defacing some of Bill's envelopes and pairing them with different books. According to them, Bill wrote the date, title, and issue on the bottom left of each envelope. From the pic you posted it does appear that something was erased there
  3. Congrats Richard, that's a beautiful acquisition
  4. I had some rare spare time tonight and managed to get a shot of where the TFTC collection stands at the moment. Any leads on the missing books would be appreciated!
  5. You're right - you don't see them that often. I've only seen 4 or 5 high grade copies in the last 3 or 4 years.
  6. Great looking books Ed! That WAC 1 is certainly a tough one.
  7. I saw the stamps on that site - I have to wait for the book to come back. As I said I wasn't aware it was a pedigree, so I assume it has a stamp on it somewhere. Thanks - I don't really understand the premium for Pedigrees. I don't think there are many pedigrees that consistently get a premium. Church copies typically do. San Francisco/Reilly, Larson, Curator, and Okajima (particularly from the camp era) generally do. Hit or miss for the other pedigrees, I think. Gaines copies do too, but I know they're a bit different
  8. Carl has bought several books from me and has been very easy to work with. I hope to do more deals with him in the future!
  9. Get used to it, in a few days that's the new reality. Meltdown margaritas from Mariano's recommended... That's funny, I had dinner at Mariano's tonight. No margaritas unfortunately. Fun fact: Mariano's is credited with inventing the frozen margarita - apparently their original machine is in the Smithsonian...
  10. Would not want this to be the last thing I saw...
  11. Thanks for all the comments! I think I need to turn up the brightness a bit on my scanner though
  12. How about a bump with a book I got back from CGC recently:
  13. Sold him a nice EC book for his birthday - transaction was very smooth. Nothing but good things to say. Thanks again Aaron!
  14. The big difference is that the outer plastic is recessed from the edges, which brings the plastic much closer to the book. I'm guessing that's what reduces the glare (although I only have two examples so far). Here's the other (non River City ) that I had reholdered:
  15. I think this is my favorite Evans cover:
  16. Yup. Hey Mitch, how 'bout posting your lovely GFC? Sure thing!
