  1. You must did quite well... . I think this copy should do okay, but would have done better late last year.
  2. It stinks. That's frustrating. I bet the seller was bombarded with so many inquires and I won't be surprise it will end up be a in CGC holder and up for auction in the future. My other theory was that as well. That the seller might not have known what they had and when they saw the interest perhaps they realized that it is a valuable book. I would not be surprised either. And by then it will command a "ton" of $$$ to obtain most likely. MYSTERY SOLVED! I finally got a response from the seller: "Thank you very much for your interest in my Detective Comics, number 35, Batman issue. I was so inundated with so many questions concerning so many aspects of the condition of this comic which I just could not answer. One Ebayer was kind enough to advise me that I would be better of, since I know nothing about comics, to send it to CGC for appropriate grading instead od providing Ebayers with my own, perhaps incorrect, grading of this comic. Please contact me in a few days and I will let you know what the grading is and what I plan to do with this comic book. Thank you again." Also sent me a message with their e-mail and told me to e-mail in a few days. That's good DETECTIVE work Bat-Man. (thumbs u I'm interested to see if they do send it to cgc. And what the grade is. As with any book CGC makes a transaction safer for both the buyer and seller! (Also might drive the price up!) That will be true...no ifs or buts. Looks like it will be a universal grade. Yeah it does, might turn out to be a stunner. I am glad they are thinking cgc because when I inquired about specifics I was left with more questions than answers. Like she called the covers "wrappers" and things like that which really confused me. Hopefully the book will end up in a blue holder and find its way back on to an auction site so everyone can have a shot at it. As that joke referenced, wouldn't be surprised if HA and Clink contacted the seller to try and get a piece of the action. Or, after the grade is made known, if it is indeed a nice, blue label, maybe i'll email her and tell her that if she doesn't need the cash to just sit on the book as it will only get more valuable year after year. I agree...whatever she plans on doing with it, she's a winner.
  3. Yea the scan shows like a 9.0/9.2, I'm guessing there's something not easy to see from a scan. GREAT COPY! Thanks all...It's a very strong 8.0 with no hidden defects.

  10. The last CL sold 8.5 sold for $5000.00 (trimmed). So the trim one $5000-$7000.
  11. That is exactly about how heritage does it though. I knew you were kidding but I would not doubt anything now-a-days. Who knows perhaps that scenario did play out. We'll see in April A while back, I have seen ComicLink tried to purpose someone on ebay to sell there high grade Tales of Suspense 39 on their auction site. Comiclink and others should really not do that. Wish they wouldn't Everyone wants a piece of the pie. Here's to CL when they did that It's a fast and furious market...so be careful. Collect what you enjoy and you will be a winner.

Yeah, that's a big $$$$ money book. That 6.5 on CL sold for a bundle last year. 35's cover is incredible. And the splash is equally incredible. It's a very solid book. And is firmly my 2nd fav book of the Pre-Robins. Going to be a trouble finding one. One of the seven top pre-robbins TEC...and your second fav book. (thumbs u

  18. I have talked to dozens and dozens of collectors, and krypto is the first and only one I have ever herad say they did well buying pgx... thats what ive heard mostly also..and it looks like kimik did even better than me..read a few posts back..now,back to the showcase 22 in question, the post stateing why heritage/steve might not want to disclose if the book was restored or not is a very valid point, along with the fact that heritage is the compitition, and very well could know first hand that that is a higher grade book sitting in a 8.0 holder that cgc couldnt slab... if they bought it,they could "hypothetically" crack it out,and market it as graded "x" grade by former cgc pres, steve borock... i know its all hypothitical, but they could potentially garner "cgc" market value that way at higher grade.... i'll go back to my corner now... The difference with my books was that I had originally subbed them/bought them from the OO who subbed them so I knew what I was dealing with. I made out well on the deal, but left $10K+ in profit on the sidelines by choosing quick and cheap via PGX vs. CGC. It's okay...I make bad decisions too We live and learn from our experiences, so we will improve and better opportunities will arise. Yes, cheap is not always the best route. PGX is cheap...result is cheap prices. CGC can be costly...result is more accurate grading and higher prices. Books under $200 graded by PGX is okay...but for books $500+, I'll stick to CGC. As we well know, the amateur collector tend to focus on the CGC label, but not the book. As a collector myself, I look for the overall eye appeal and page quality when I make my purchase.
