  1. I don't know if that will help. The articles I have read that mention their marketing strategy include the worst disatrous and mistake filled. Anybody going to do a before and after movie sales price check? We hear so much about movie hype. Why don`t we look at what are the average prices are for Showcase 22 now before the GL movie debut then go look at the prices a month or two from now. I like to see if the GL movie has any affect on the Showcase 22 prices. I want to see if this so called movie hype has any bearing on comic prices for the keys. Actually, it's costing me about $51,080 for a theatre stub to see it... That's some serious bread. Did they throw in a private "screening" with Blake Lively at that price? Oh...I'm going to see it at least three times.
  2. Always a mistake, and one I've scrupulously avoided. Oh no! Is that the beautiful book from page three of this thread now unjustly imprisoned in plastic? Cat, I had this book since the late 80's and have enjoyed it raw for over twenty years. It came time for it to be encapsulated for safe keeping and to enjoy it encapsulated for twenty years. Keep up with all your cool raw scans...enjoying them.
  3. I checked the census on some of the those ASM and most are the top of the census with less than four copies in that tier.
  4. Some super high grade Spideys on link today from the wow thread. http://www.comiclink.com/cgc.asp?_SORT=YES&f1=i.LastUpdate&ODire1=DESC&f2=i.Title&ODire2=ASC&f3=i.IssueNumber%+i.VolumeNumber&ODire3=ASC
  5. That book in itself is a wonderful collection! Very nice!
  6. I think Pre-Robin King, is more appropriate for you, with your collection. Ha, I wish! Maybe I can accept the title if I add that 4.0 Tec 27 Don't get frustrated...just mann-up and go for it. You got a point there, but I've been MANNING-UP on every book I purchased thus far. I don't wanna lose another pair of underwear for the Tec 27 It's my last and most favorite one You have great courage and stepped up to the plate; as a result, a great pre-robbin collection that resides with you.

  8. I don't know if that will help. The articles I have read that mention their marketing strategy include the worst disatrous and mistake filled. Well, Warner did spent another $9 mil to improve the special effects.

  10. That will complete your top three SA DC set in 6.0's. (thumbs u
  11. 11) the copy with the chip 12) the faded copy 13) the ungraded copies (thumbs u On another note. As some have already noticed, Warner Brothers has been doing a lot of promotion and advertisement for the GL movie. Let's hope this pans out.
  12. Hoarding is great since it's what you enjoy (pre-robin). It is, and feels good to hoard. I have an obsession! Great Batman collection Alex.
  13. Hoarding is great since it's what you enjoy (pre-robin).
  14. Owning a 9.4 B&B 28 is so 2009. I would like to own the 9.6 SC 4. An 8.0 would be fine for us "regulars". I'll be happy to be in that club.
  15. Congrats on a very nice copy! Very nice photo too!
  16. Shall we say 20% jump in the last quarter.
  17. I would too at those grades and cost a lot less.
  18. (envy) I didn`t buy it. I just celebrate any time someone who presses and resubs a book loses money! just looking at the heritage archives, i spotted 2 af15s that bumped from 5.5 to 7.0 and a 4.5 to a 5.5 and thats just with a quick scan. Wow, that is some research there. I have to check it out.
  19. (envy) I didn`t buy it. I just celebrate any time someone who presses and resubs a book loses money! In this case, the short term flipper didn't win. The flipper held the book for only three months with prices of SC22 still being extremely volatile during that period of time.
  20. In hindsight, the 9.6 copy was the bargain of the decade when it sold on Heritage. Goldman must`ve been bummed, and Wilson`s client must`ve been ecstatic. With SC4 9.2 selling, it was the confirmation for the upper DC SA market. I bet your client was ecstatic of the BB28 purchase. I don`t know if he was ecstatic, as negotiations were protracted and he definitely felt like he was paying full freight! In contrast, the 9.6 SC 4 was barely more than the 9.4 copy that had sold just a short while before. It was a clear bargain from the minute the auction closed, and I`m sure the winner`s ceiling was much much higher. Dont' get me wrong, you did quite well Tim. Books with that magnitude tends to stay embedded to collections or a profit seeker. Regarding the SC4, it will be hard to top that copy.

  22. I do recall the MC copy sold during the brief downturn of SA market. There were a lot of bargains during the first quarter of 2010.
  23. I do know one of the other 6.5 has been listed a few times already. The 6.0 is definitely new. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.
  24. In hindsight...that 7.5 ow which sold last year was a real bargain.
  25. Stunning book. Killer spine, gloss, looks like it still has that "wooble" in the pages its so fresh. What does it grade out at? That is gorgeous!!! I can't wait to find out what it grades.
