  1. Thanks. I've been watching for a SC23 7.5+ to show up for a while now. I had to pony up to get this puppy added to my collection. I don't think I will upgrade after this one though. When you get it, scans please !! Congrats Rich ! (And I'm getting my St Tales Ann 2....it's en route!!) Thanks Brannon! Love to see your Strange Tales Annual 2.

I don't think I will upgrade after this one though. yeah 23 & 24 are my sleeper picks for the coming year, I can see a nice run-up on these books in line with GL 1, which is the sexier book but more available than the other 2 I agree. SC23,SC24 is under value and especially 7.0+. And definitely cheap compare to SC8,SC13,SC14.

  4. I was the lucky winner and I will have a scan of it when it arrives.
  5. That book is comparable to a Spidey #2 but much rarer. If I were an avid Flash collector, I would click to OWN that book. If it were an 8.5 I would. I just couldn't get myself to pay up for the 9.0. There are so many good books to be had at that price. Well...I always try and buy the book not the label. That book looks super and I can only imagine what the insides smell like... But that's just me. Sharp looking copy! And the PQ is ow/w. The whiter the pages...the less smell.
  6. The 9.2 is, how shall we say, a special case. I wouldn`t use it as any kind of benchmark to extrapolate what a 9.4 or 9.6 price should be. It shall be interesting to see the future outcome of these high grade SC4's...
  7. From my observations and research, It will be an amazing task for the 9.4 or 9.6 to sell any much higher than the previous sale. The 9.2 was sold for 62K in 2004 and still NO bite between $80-100K. Unless this copy can clear this obstacle, the 9.4+ price uptick is futile.
  8. Showcase 22 CGC 4.5 crm/ow and with a free GL 40 4.0 http://cgi.ebay.com/Showcase-22-Graded-3-5-Free-G-Lantern-40-G-4-0-/180558537766?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0a20a426
  9. I don't think it would have but you never know. For sure SC22 is more valuable thatn Flash 105 now and it still is ranked lower in the OSPG. It depends. That sale was last summer, right? If yes, that would have put it smack dab in the middle of the first SC #22 run up. Hard to say. In the same way that the laws of physics don`t work the same at the sub-atomic level, the laws of comic book pricing don`t always work the same at the six-figure level. When the Law of Multiples Extrapolation runs into the Law of Big Numbers, the Law of Big Numbers tends to win out, which helps to explain in part why the 9.6 Showcase 4 went for so cheap. I agree, but it seems like SC #4 is in a downswing while SC #22 is on the rise. I figured that the #4 would top $200K due to its significance, but it did not. Due to the GL movie, there may be more people willing to chase SC #22 rather than SC #4. In the case of #4, if it were to come to market again now (we know that it likely will not resurface for a while), I think it would have a hard time reaching the price Mark paid for it last year. Maybe a Flash movie would change that, but right now all of the momentum is on the side of SC #22. Yeah...SC4 is fully valued and with a Flash movie, it will help it a wee bit more. On the other hand, SC22 has high potential. Green Lantern has too much going for it; such as, a possible sequel and a cartoon to coincide with the release with the movie. This may generate the next generations of fans and will be great for future other DC movies.
  10. Green Lanterns says "Welcome to the club"
  11. Green Lantern says "Welcome to the Club".
  12. First love...emotionally attached...BB28 offer was too sweet to refuse.
  13. Great perception. Okay, some fun facts. Let's see which top SA DC is more scarce in CGC universal 7.0+ Adventure 210 (27 copies of 67) 40.29% Adventure 247 (23 copies of 145) 15.86% Brave and the Bold 28 (41 copies of 348) 11.78% Flash 105 (26 copies of 217) 11.98% Green Lantern 1 (70 copies of 389) 17.99% Justice League 1 (54 copies of 417) 12.94% Showcase 4 (19 copies of 204) 9.31% Showcase 22 (22 copies of 327) 6.72% So, GL 1 is most common. BB28, F105,JL1 is uncommon. Showcase 4 and 22 is quite scarce in 7.0+. This data confirms SC22 in 9.2 could be a long shot. Your post made me curious how the other major early key, Adventure 247, stacked up. What`s surprising is how under-submitted Adventure 247 is compared to these books. Only 145 copies in total, well below the 2nd lowest, Flash 105. However, of those, 23 are 7.0 or higher, representing the 2nd highest percentage at 15.86% behind GL 1, although perhaps it`s a bit deceptive because 12 of those are right at 7.0. Pardon my oversight. I would add Adventure 247. Since this post is about 7.0+, obliviously some of these keys in 9.0+ is truly rare. I know I may be biased, but SC22 is a very rare species in 7.0+ and let alone anything above 8.0. Would someone put Adv 210 in there to pump up the FMV ?? For you sir. Obviously only high grade submitters on this one...so it doesn't count.
  14. Okay...I started in 1987...you guys are major veterans.
  15. Wow...that's very cool. You're not doing too bad with your SC24 8.0.
  16. Until the 9.6 owner sells his copy to me, the answer is "No!" I must have missed it. When did the Adventure 247 9.6 showed up? I thought you had the highest graded copy.
  17. There are plenty out there. I have two copies myself. I think I own the only white pager out there.

  20. And Green Lantern is the culprit for the gains for most of these books.
  21. I have two Flash books...I will get them graded next month.
  22. Go for it...don't wait to long. 6.0+ is where it is.
