Then they are nowhere near hitting those turnaround times.  Also this is a change from their original position, see article you cited from 5/6.  I've spoken to customer service on a few occasions and they had informed me that the clock starts once the order was added to their system, which was much later than when they "received" the cards.

It's listed under their news tab... the clock begins when it is received at their facility.

rhsiv - I'm in the same boat.  They rec'd on 4/11, but nothing has been entered into the system yet.  I thought I'd give them one chance with a submission and see how it turned out.  I know it will take awhile now, which is understandable with the changing grading landscape.  But I doubt I will send another sub, at least until I see what PSA comes out with for bulk submissions when they are back on line this summer.  If the lowest PSA price is $40 or $50 per, it's possible I'd give CSG another shot.  But if PSA still has the $20 level again, I'd still probably use PSA.

Honestly, not sure if we'll ever see PSA prices hit $20/card or below🙄

I am amazed at how comfortable everyone is with large price increases to keep submission levels down and poor turn around times. Grading companies could just as easily limit submissions and keep prices at reasonable levels. I believe we are in the middle of a bubble in sports cards driven by covid-19 and large greedy investor types that really don't care about the hobby. I remember seeing a similar environment in the 1989 to 1990 time period where people were buying hundreds of cards of players as "investors" and opening tons of junk wax thinking it was the same as investing in a stock. When the recession hit they lost a large chunk of their investment. Right now as we are starting to see things open up I believe many of the new collectors to the hobby will be frustrated by the high prices of cards and poor levels of service and begin to leave. What do you think?

I think the new collectors who really want to collect will stay. But the ones who came just purely for profit will leave.

If it had a EV grade with it in the returned card then it means evidence of trimming or other alteration.  I went over this with them on the phone and told them that the cards I sent were not trimmed and they told me then the card was probably too thin which indicates that it may have been pressed.  (that wasn't true either, but if you had your card in a screw down then it's very possible).

Having been pressed down in a screwdown was most likely the case with my Fleer Jordan RC that came back EV/trimmed since I bought mine from a legitimate seller who was an LCS owner about 5 years ago.

If they allowed for this you would have people constantly sending in bulk orders,  then 2 months later after somebody got hurt like a Robert having buyers remorse wanting their cards back so they don't have to pay for them. Everybody on the planet knows that EVERY card grader is having massive delays. Don't send your cards in if you are going to sit at home and sweat every day until you get them back.

I absolutely agree, especially with your last sentence :golfclap:

But does received mean when you enter it into the system, or the day it was literally delivered to your location?  For example, if my package was delivered on 3/18 but not entered into the system until 4/23 does the clock start on 3/18 or 4/23?

The current date of when the clock starts for your order is when the package is recorded as delivered to their facility. That's the latest news CSG gave directly in their news tab.

The answer as to why PSA is realizing greater prices than SGC is really quite simple - its the registry.  SGC's lack of a registry has severely hurt its resale value.  I actively collected pre-WWII cards back when SGC was considered the top dog for vintage cards (this was back in the 2000-10 time period).  I can assure you that back then, the difference between SGC and PSA wasn't nearly as great as it is now, and generally speaking, I could almost always sell my SGC graded cards for as much as similarly graded PSA cards. I also routinely crossed PSA cards to SGC slabs to keep my collection consistent.  Most cards crossed from PSA to SGC within a half grade in either direction (in other words, a PSA 5 would almost always cross over into an SGC 5 or 5.5).  Very few cards failed to cross.  Those that failed to cross were generally within a half-grade (i.e. PSA 6 to an SGC 5.5).  I also had more than a couple of examples of PSA slabbed cards that would not cross because SGC believed that they were trimmed.

In short, SGC sucks along with PSA...I'll never submit with either one.

Did they specifically say it was trimmed?  I know other grading companies will consider cards to be altered if they were flattened at all from being in a screw down holder.

I had my prized card, my 1986 Fleer Jordan RC and it came back to me as evidence of being altered/trimmed...This was back in March, so now I'm just waiting for them to announce when they will slab cards as authentic altered.

SGC completed my last sub a week ago in 3 days. I liked the interview with their president. He seems self aware of his previous failure at anticipating volume and honest. They're really stepping it up.

Realistically though, SGC slabs are ugly to me. They definitely don't appeal to very many people. I don't see too many submitting to them unless it's vintage at best...my 2c

I sent my "standard" order when it was a 25 day turnaround. While in route it went to 32. I'm now at business day 33 and they have yet to be entered. When I ask how long they send you a link to a date that has been the same date going on 3 weeks. Does that date represent the day or the week of? How many days is it taking to receive one days worth of incoming? My submission was delivered April 9th. So even at 11 days that puts me at 44 days at least based on the current day they are on.

What happens next? While in the received stage, am I still waiting the 25 business days which is the timeframe when I sent it? or will I have to wait 32,45 or the new time 47 business days? Even at 25 business days it puts me 9 days longer than the bulk time frame was at the time that I submitted my cards and I am paying $32 a card at 111 cards. I feel like they need to meet me in the middle at economy pricing as Nothing had changed yet at all on their website. I know they probably won't but whatever they do will determine if I continue to use them moving forward or not.

Put things into perspective, I sent a shipment to SGC at $30 a card last Tuesday. It arrived Friday. Today (The next Tuesday) they are already on their way back. Way faster for less money.

Hey off topic but do you have a YouTube channel of the same name? If that's you, I really like the channel and think it's really informative and a good watch!

My only advice for people on the fence if they want to send a bulk order is don't do it. There is bulk orders from February and March that haven't been returned to people from when they first opened. The turnaround time you see for bulk at 133 working days is probably in reality over 200 working days. They are already missing their original estimates on turnarounds from February and early March before a big influx in orders. At this point if you were to send I could easily see the Turnaround times being doubled and you being told sorry it's over 200 working days now and you being unable to have your packaged shipped back if you no longer want your cards graded and have your cards held hostage for a year +

Exactly...just like the million and one other people who decided to send bulk, definitely do not expect any miracles or point any fingers at CSG:insane:

Got my returned package today. The box was pretty wrecked, actually looked like someone had quite possibly opened it. Was not sure my card would be in there. Thankfully it was and was unharmed.

That's crazy:p Consider yourself very lucky. What is your next move with the card?

I think their grading is very inconsistent and I think people are starting to realize that very early on here. I got a lot of heat on here because I posted something about their grading. I sent in 75 of the same card hand picked from about 300 cards and only got 23 9.5's and the rest were either 9's or 8.5s. Anyway I found this card on ebay and it made me realize they have no consistency. This card got a PRISTINE 10 and the centering is far from pristine, really telling.

If you really want to talk about inconsistent grading, look up PSA:D
