  1. Actually, they were on Wizard's website for $49.99 not $10.00 when I purchased them. And yes they stated limited to 10. I also confirmed it when I attended a Wizard World Philly Con years ago when I approach a gentleman at the Wizard booth with a blue and red in hand. He actually called up one of the owners of Wizard who confirmed he remembers that they were limited to 10 copies. So there you have some data and history of these rare gems. You know that's just hearsay, right...? The same can be said about what you posted, but being that I actually purchased the books directly from the Wizard website I know what I paid for them. You have a choice to believe it or not.
  2. Good luck with your search! That's what I do for my grails, have a grail fund. It keeps me out of the dog house with the wifey.
  3. Thanks for weighing in on this You got it!!! Enjoy the book!
  4. When I purchased the 6 blues & 2 reds, the next day I went to accquire more and they were sold out. Very safe bet that Wizard don't have anymore.

  6. I believe you are incorrect when taking about the "delay". If I remember correctly the variants were originally set to arrive on July 16th. Marvel delayed it by a week. The books did arrive on the 23th. So the books were available at the prescribed day. This was posted on this board a while ago so you probably missed it. You can clearly look it up yourself on this board which you should of done before making comments about things that are incorrect. Just saying....
  7. They were available for pick up on the 25th if you live near their store. I live literally down the street from the shop so I picked up my stash that day. What I am inferring is that there are those of us who paid way up front and should have been the ones to get their purchases first(by pick up or by shipping). I was one of those who paid up front probably one of the earliest to do. The books were a pre-sale they had to be paid up front first.

  9. It will be in the mail tomorrow Thanks. I was wondering if I BIN priced it too low. Will see Thanks!!!
  10. According to April 2013 numbers on Comichron, #300 is at 4,369 so its safe to say the #1 2nd print is lower than this. What exactly? Its low enough for me!!!
  11. I feel a 1st appearance means when the character is first seen full body one panel and not in a shadow. When you see the character bam he/she appeared. 1st appearance!!! JMO.
  12. Barnes & Nobles scan the UPC codes, when I go I actually ask them if I could scan the books so to make sure that an inexperienced comic handler don't damage my books.
  13. Tfaw is showing a regular and a Ramos variant. So that makes five different covers including the Lockford 3 so far.
  14. Lockford88 is a honest and standup guy. Like what one poster recently said, he didn't have to offer these books directly to the comic community or even offer a discount. I think that says a lot about his character, he has given many a great opportunity to own a cool collectible. The cover looks awesome and I can't wait to get the books!!! I'm just excited that there is another variant available. Thanks Lockford!!!
  15. I firmly believe that besides the obvious low print run and the probability of scoring any 9.8's, some Marvel newsstands have something even bigger going for them. Anyone wanna guess? It is that Marvel has decided get out of the newsstand business, so no more MARVEL Newsstands? Check the prices on the UPC box. AH HA Price variant (thumbs u

  17. I have a full shortbox of books I bought off the stand. All the books came from the same corner store. I had a great time going back to my roots and collecting that way. Basically I collected Spidey, X-Men & Wolverine. Have complete runs of ASM & Peter Parker Vol.2 from 9-39. I remember when ASM 36 hit the stand. Once I got home and opened up the issue...I raced back to the store & bought the remaining 2 copies( the store carried 3 copies of each book). I submitted the 2 best copies & they came back 9.6 & 9.8 Very Nice!!! (thumbs u
  18. When looking at the 2000's to present era, newsstands have lower print run's but also have a greater chance of damage from shelving and handling(just take a look at your local B&N....what a mess) and what I think is the most important factor is that what is left on the shelf for a period of time, gets removed and destroyed, hence lowering the print run even more. So I believe modern high grade newsstands in this era will have the greatest chance for rarity and value potential. Most people and LCS I noticed are in a fog to this and you can find these books in boxes rather cheap, so my opinion is early bird gets the worm and find them before the hammer drops!! Low print run + Difficult in high grade + Leftover stock gets destroyed = Great recipe for success!
  19. Newsstands get really hard to find around 1999-current. I don't know the future for the current newsstand editions since many stores stopped selling them. Barnes & Noble is probably one of the last ones that do. The era to collect for low printed is the 2000's and up. High grades are few compared to the plenty of direct editions. When you see Bob Overstreet address these newsstand editions in his COMIC BIBLE, then you will see the comic community/market for sure embrace them and prices will move accordingly.....up!
  20. You've been spouting this line for a long time and no one is buying it. I have you on ignore but having seen the quotes, where you down right insulted the guy I just have to comment. These boards/community were a much better place before speculators like you came over and the main reason I no longer post as much as I used to. That's not to say I have an issue with speculating, I don't! It's just when your pure reason for being in comics is speculating and the almighty dollar seeing your posts is just annoying. It gets even more annoying when you start criticizing a book purely because the value is not as high as you would like it to be, even when the book itself is amazing. It just seriously grinds my gears. It's just when your pure reason for being in comics is speculating and the almighty dollar seeing your posts is just annoying. It gets even more annoying when you start criticizing a book purely because the value is not as high as you would like it to be, even when the book itself is amazing. It just seriously grinds my gears Hey, I appreciate your opinion and this is a great board to express it, many great posts about comics in general. What people have to understand as with any hobby the $$$$$$$$$ is built into the market. Its just the way it is. Do you really think comic publishers care about you and your feelings about a story or character. Maybe the writer and artist does but Marvel, DC, Image and others only care about $$$$$$$$$$ Gotta make the most profit as much as possible. PUMP OUT THOSE ISSUES!!!! IF WE MAKE THEM........THEY WILL COME!!!! AND COME BACK AND BACK AND BACK!!! They know how humans react to collecting, its psychological and have molded this market the way they wanted it to be. Just look at the multiple covers idea thought way back then. Come on guys they got this thing wrapped up good and they are the true $$$$$$$$$ makers. Granted, I'm in the hobby myself and not exempt from this madness but at least I'm aware of whats going on. So if someone is speculating on a book, don't bash that person for doing it because its part of this hobby. DON'T HATE THE PLAYER... HATE THE GAME!!!! How may people would be around if the hobby only read the book. Speculators are needed to drive interest and fuel buzz to make a book successful not just a good story or art anymore and these publishers NEED this and they know it! Sorry to derail the thread and for long rant. Need to keep it in perspective!!
  21. This is the description of the comic: Beneath Gotham City, Catwoman fights for her life! Plus, this issue will make you ask the question “Who is The Joker’s Daughter?” speculation on the Jokers daughter. Doubt there will be an appearance however, it'll have to be a quick flip. Smoke em if you got/get em...Also, #22 sales were 24,737 Larry, any indication if retailers were warned to up their orders like other titles in past?
  22. I agree.... but how many printings did #1 go through. That shows that the supply of the 1st printing didn't meet the demand. So.... many had to be happy with 2nd, then 3rd then 4th. It's just the way my brain see's it.
  23. Why? because I have a hundred copies! How many did Midtown Comics order? or any of dealer for that matter, Most likely more than me. Dealers are in the business to sell and move books not collect. I do the same thing but put certain books on a holding pattern if I feel they might sprout wings down the road.
