  1. Frazetta Bisley Bolton Kirby Ditko I do like Keith's and Cassadays distinctive styles but they certainly don't belong on a list like this. Leifeld has no right to be classed as an artist, never mind being on a "Best of" list.
  2. Famous for its supporters. insufficiently_thoughtful_persons Language filter has fixed that for ya'
  3. Don't forget England legend Wilf Mannion
  4. Why were you attempting to put a giant ribbed condom over The Riverside???
  5. Can you bring some semi-decent weather with you. It's been pizzing it down and blowing a gale here
  6. It's Bill Withers. Or at least it will if you microwave him.
  7. I wouldn't feel down about it. It was simply a UK based sales PM for those of us who wanted to buy and sell books without the huge import costs associated with buying from US sellers. The truth is that hardly anything has actually been listed in the last few months so to all intents and purposes it's dead. In the last month, I've listed over 140 TPB's/graphic novels, over 80 comic sets, over 300 raw books and one slab. What do I have to do to make it not dead? We told you that trying to off-load all your carpy DC would be the death of that PM. We were not wrong.
  8. Hi Evorus, I'm Paul and I'm located just North of Nottingham. I'm originally from Middlesbrough (The current location for a couple of other reprobate boardies). What do you collect? I'm a bit of an X-Men nut, especially Jean Grey stuff. Currently working on a 9.8 Dark Phoenix set as well as upgrading my UXM raws to as high a grade as I can manage. Hi Paul, I'm in Manchester, originally welsh but moved here and married a local lass and have somehow managed to avoid border control. Currently collecting through Preacher, Sandman, Transmetropolitan (which I've bought off a user here!), The Boys and Hellboy (for which I have the first 3 appearances) As for this secret handshake and 12 month wait for the PM List, I'm sure I've already received the obligatory paperwork which I've signed, sealed and am now currently shredding as per the agreement Great taste on books, although I'm not a huge fan of Hellboy. One the other hand, Preacher is one of the best series ever written. My 9.8 issue 1 was one of my prize books until recently. The speculator driven price spike was too much for me so mine got sold and the cash was put towards 9.8 copies of UXM 135 and 136. Any love for Hellblazer?

The truth is that hardly anything has actually been listed in the last few months so to all intents and purposes it's dead. The UK Boardies try to keep their nonsense and inane drivel to these here parts.
  10. There's a topic?? This place hasn't had a topic since Jimmers 10502nd post.

  12. There is a Brits only PM thread which you could join - just about everyone from Britland here is on it. What happened to the double secret handshake, password, 12 month vetting process, references and panel selection???
  13. Sturdy plastic boxes. Not sure if they are available in the U.S. although I think that BCW do something simiar I took these a while ago for another UK boardie. I printed the spines myself although I have seen a pretty epic display where someone had cut up an Alex Ross poster and re-assembled it in the volstors so that when they were all on a shelf the full picture could be seen. Each case can hold about 30 books with bags and boards but I prefer 22 books with full-backs and Mylites2
  14. Having recently moved into a new house, my wife has finally allowed me to move some of my books out of storage and into the spare bedroom. It may not be as epic as some of the other rooms in this thread but I'm really happy with my Jean Grey based work area A raw sketch of Phoenix from LSCC 2014 and a sketch of my other favourite Red Head - Red Sonja (Also from LSCC 2014). I think the Ikea Ribba frames work well with raw books. Some non-red heads, but still great books. Really need to straighten out that FF49 in the frame. The IF 1 is signed by Starlin. Finally, my UXM collection. I use Volstor cases for these. Not cheap but certainly better looking than conventional comic boxes and a hell of a lot more sturdy. Plus you can create custom spines and covers for them. (Excuse the blurry iPhone pics) I've still got 2 filing cabinets of raws, 3 CGC boxes of slabs and another 8 Volstor cases to move in, as well as my small collection of Bowen busts. This arrived in the post about an hour ago - just need to find a more appropriate perch for her.
  15. Knowing Brian's purile sense of humour, not sure if he's applauding the longevity of your collecting or simply that you wrote 69 In either case - good work fella
  16. Hi David, Welcome to the boards fellow Brit Hope you enjoy the madhouse here. There are a fair few UK boardies here. There is even a UK boardie thread over in the permanent polls section. Pop along and say
  17. Not only that, but those Billy bookcases from Ikea don't hold the entire series. I'm struggling where to display mine as a single wall-mounted shelf may not hold that amount of weight A great series but a logistical nightmare to display. Back on topic though - Great setup Supermovaa
