Still waiting on my 8/3 submissions, including a Modern one that has been in GEI since 12/3. None of them were pre-screen submissions. I have been told the one in GEI is "Getting Close" to being done as of this week.

At this rate, my September 2021 submissions will be back before the August ones.......

My submissions have been coming back "out of order", but everything I submitted before October 2021 have gotten back to me. All Modern economy (25 books).

I'm grading 2 copies of everything (1st prints) but I'm starting to run into books get I may not be able to get my hands on now. Only book I've back from CGC thus far is a single Eniac #1 9.8

Try again. Mecha_Fantastic didn't mention money, you did. You're the one who seems concerned about the financial interest people have in products from a stupid company.

Who's raging? I don't pay much attention to this junk. I'm just waiting for the Bad Joke to actually end, which is why I read this thread in the first place, only to find out that it's just more B.S.

He mentioned purchasing, aka what money does, but lets not try to get tripped up on semantics.

You are totally raging. Or is this you being cordial and objective when discussing a 'stupid company' in a thread that is 'just more BS'? That's a lot of energy expended for someone who 'don't pay much attention to this junk'.

You're the one who brought up money, in that post I quoted. If you like the content, that's fine. But that doesn't mean you have to defend the company's ridiculous, stupid :censored::censored::censored: sales tactics, which have nothing to do with the quality of the content..

No I didn't bring up money, the previous post that I quoted mentioned money, try to keep up. I also never really defended the company as I don't really care how Bad Idea conducts business, so don't make it a 'me' problem. As long as the quality product is delivered I really don't care what they do or how many fanboys they lather into a tizzy. Frankly the anti Bad Idea sentiment in this thread has gotten ridiculous, there are bigger things to rage about.

    hm

How much money do you have tied up in product from these clowns? Are you worried that their next steps will bankrupt you?

Really? You are such a cynic to consider that there was no possibility that I actually like to READ and enjoy these books?

For the record I have 2 raw copies of each floppy release that Bad Idea has put out thus far. That is it. Whatever they plan for the future will hardly impact my personal finances what so ever.

I still don’t get why people are speculating on skaar when he probably won’t be introduced for a few years if ever.   It’s just insane that people are speculating on 2nd tier characters when marvel still has plenty of 1st tier characters to introduce in order to get to the other characters.  And this will probably take years to get to.  In the year till that happens, don’t people realize if we go into a recession, most of those books will be up for sale flooding the market and be easier to get at a cheaper price while waiting for the character to eventually appear in a movie or show?

WWH5 for me, first continuity appearance, I've been buying the variant cover for years. What if PH gets the bigger bucks because it had a smaller print run... I think that is the only real appeal there.

Also, we had a massive worldwide pandemic recession and collectibles have sky rocketed so the old economic rules are on the out until further notice.:nyah:

Alright, let's do this. *Puts on his niggling jorts.*

I agree with you if we only take that one specific line, but it's only a part of the whole, and they have made other far more damming statements that make it sound much more convincing to Joe Q Consumer that the company's done, aka 'Bad Idea is over,' and making statements about how interested buyers may purchase their 'final five' products. There's just no getting around the 'final five' thing.

But again, it's the totality that matters, and when you look at the whole or just certain parts, the intent matters, but shows the same thing: we're done guys, but if you are an obsessive stan, we're *wink* over *wink wink*.

What are the "far more damning statements"?

And at this point why do you even care? Sounds like you pulled out your money and future interest in this company so just let the remaining interested readers continue on with the 'drama production' that bothers you so much. Obsessive stan indeed...

I think he’s saying that they make the books so hard to get if your shop doesn’t carry them that it feels like getting lots of people to read them is not their top priority.

These books are not difficult to get if you truly have interest. Independent publishers historically have not served up their offers up a silver platter the way DC and Marvel could.

Uhh, please explain how they are not by "closing" the company?

The short version? The company is not "closing", but more of a rebranding. The clues are are already presented in this thread...

But they don't want me to read their comics, they just want to play stupid :censored: games.

Then don't read the books and continue believing that this company is out to pull a fast one on you.

:roflmao:If only the CEO believed that maybe he’d not be pulling publicity stunts like “ending” the company to boost sales. It’s literally screaming as loud as you can the comics don’t speak for themselves.

That makes no sense. So when another comic collector/reader says "Yes the books, are good", you will refuse to believe them?

Announcing your company is ending production (while simultaneously announcing that your company's people are planning to reboot as a new company) is sort of a step further than just printing eleventy-seven variant covers or silly line-crossing stories or renumbering.

You better send them a stern letter of protest. They may actually be able to quantify what 'eleventy-seven' variant covers would actually look like in a future release.

Creators capable of making content worth reading shouldn't (and shouldn't need to) shackle themselves to tawdry marketing gimmicks of this caliber.

Tawdry marketing? The last 30 years of comic marketing history probably should have made your head explode many times over.

  14. For everyone that is down on Bad Idea and any perceived marketing stunts, feel free to ignore the noise and not spend any money on this company's offerings. Just walk away.

The rest of us are enjoying the ride and remain very cognizant that Bad Idea does not take itself seriously and neither should the haters.

The comics (thus far) speak for themselves, not reading them is just doing yourself a disservice.

A lot of people kept mentioning that they have been silent, but they have replied to those who asked in the ask CGC forum about extending it. Here was the reply for those that didn't see it. 20210428_001358.jpg.97fea5b0dfe8de9b702c459ad8a9bf0d.jpg
