  2. Thats why I never put an in Sean's threads. I can imagine him biting my head off. He's scary.
  3. Was the gist of the convo that he was going to pay and stop being a weeping fistula?
  4. You may have seen the cover, but it is the combo of the 25 cent logo and the barcode with the price that is the rare one.
  5. I am putting together a bigass thread in Mixed Forum. There will be some SS. You have been warned.
  6. From the summer Corey Feldman Tyler mane John Rhys-Davies Two Leatherfaces and the Director of TCM2
  7. Yes, because that's exactly what I want...for them to film this movie verbatim. You're perched on a slippery slope, mein freund. I thought you would see my comment was dripping with sarcasm. I'm too honest and forthright...I don't do sarcasm well No, I got the sarcasm. But my point is, if we can clearly draw the line at dialogue, where along the slippery slope do we decide what is and isn't sacrosanct. How about a story that shares more than just the name? Are you telling me you wouldn't want to see that story on the big screen? That would be awesome. Maybe the only way I'll get what I want is if Marvel starts doing DC style animated films. Case, I love your passion. And I admit when I see something that is slavishly faithful to the original (Planet Hulk, DC New Frontier) I LOVE it. I just hate to see just a good fan froth at the mouth instead of enjoying our hour in the cinematic sun.

  9. I don't care what actor they get, just as long as they look & act the part of the character Do they have to wear the spandex costumes? What if they looked exactly as their comic book originals but were terrible actors? I think they should use muted colors for the costumes (like First Class) Then the actors need to do their best to portray the characters faithfully as possible (no matter how terrible they are) But what is your preference? They look the same but aren't the best actors or they look different and are the best actors around? Why does it have to be an either / or scenario? I would assume that getting top quality actors that look exactly like the comic book originals would be pretty difficult. It's thinking like this that gives us Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin King Kong Bundy.

  12. I won't be satisfied unless they let Claremont write the dialogue: "Oh, Ororo, you who have soared in the hot African sun, and been worshipped as a goddess, I love you." "And I you, with all my heart." Nothing makes for good popcorn cinema like slavish adherence to children's periodicals.
  13. 9.6 copies have some rocking traction right now according to GPA.
  14. Lar, if that is the correct picture, you need Lasik, bad.
  15. SME 15 is a great book. There are just far more high grade copies than is typical from the time period. I got three 9.6 copies in a trade for less than the Overstreet 9.2 price, because the other party has access to a hoard of them. He has slabbed at least a dozen 9.8s from that hoard, and there are many more hoards like that out there. I don't know why, but it is what it is. Here is my keeper:
  16. +1 The comic reads faster, so maybe that helped too. But the comic Governor definitely was an evil badass character that was to be feared. The TV Governor is ok, but isn't as scary yet. Comic book spoilers to compare the two versions up to this point in the story: I feel let down. Really bad things should have happened to Maggie this past episode. We are seeing how far the producers are allowed to push it... and its not very far. Makes me wish that the show was on HBO or Showtime. I disagree. The Governor planted the seeds in Glenn's mind that Maggie had been complicit. That is psychologically more satisfying than "really bad things" happening to Maggie.
  17. I got caught up with three episodes last night, because the football was so frickin' lame. I think the re-imagined Governor is awesome. Why not have him be a charming (and as Michonne said) "Jim Jones-type" leader. Charismatic and outwardly affable. But we can see his mind is like a bag of eels and it will be sweet when he finally goes batspit crazy. The other thing that I love, that others might see as cheesy, is that basically the main band is being set up as superheroic - Andrea leaping off the fence to kill the walker - Glenn taking supreme punishment, then killing a walker like Drew Barrymore in Charlie's Angels - The Governor saying that 10 people did what Merle said was impossible.
  18. My largest board deal in terms of number of slabs - and it was to the UK. I was pretty nervous. But with the help of some friends, and due to the fact that KevinJ is awesome, this deal went smooth as silk. Highest possible recommendation.
  19. I would vote no. In fact, if no money ever switches hands I would vote no on even the board transactions. Maybe we need to add a Butthurt section. This could include the deals where we feel our time has been wasted, but that there hasn't actually been a payment made. HOS - True conman territory. Bad guys who have screwed people over multiple times. Probation- Someone took my money & it took months to get the think worked out. They fell off the internet after losing a job or a bad family situation & cannot be trusted. Butthurt- I was the first in the thread to . It's my book & the deal didn't get completed for some reason. Did I lose money? No, but I wasted a valuable 2 minutes of my life time. Similar to if you call a comic shop & reserve something, but when you arrive they can't find it or accidently sold it to another customer. Wasted my time. Sorry, it just seems like people are getting hit up for the probation thread for some pretty minor situations even when they are not bad guys or habitual problems. Just so I am clear on "not being a bad guy" or "a habitual problem": You are saying that it is OK to make a deal with someone, use that deal to milk a higher offer out of someone else, then use that offer to try and milk more money out of the guy that already has a contract on the book, and when that doesn't work, sell it to the 2nd person? That, to me, is way worse than just screwing up or welching on a deal. Way, way worse.
