  1. I have tons of 1s, but nothing over 9.2-9.4 3 has a red cover, that's all I can recall of that one. I'm not sure I have ever seen a 4 except pictures. There is not a lot to recommend about 1,3 or 4. I would have thrown 6 in there, too, but will absolutely refrain.
  2. Thread bump. Picked up a verrrrry nice #4 over the weekend.
  3. Pakkin's Land and LifeQuest were both decent.
  4. Thanks. The 9.6s and 9.8s were from an original owner collection. The others were drek purchased from Ebay. Not sure why I even bothered to submit them. That CR-OW 8.5 looks freaking awesome.
  5. Wow. What a haul. I thought Bakersfield Country Comics (or whatever) was the 1st appearance. Thanks for the info.
  6. That is cool, and it looks very sharp as well.
  7. It may have sold for that, but it wasn't in 2007. Think the vendor was asking $45k for it at SDCC around 2005 so would be surprised it he accepted a "low ball" offer of $25k straight cash. Which is exactly why I said what I said. If it sold for $25k it was long before 2007. (thumbs u
  8. It may have sold for that, but it wasn't in 2007.
  9. Your mistake is attempting to apply sound logic and reason to a sale that repudiates such concepts.
  10. J, This is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth. I would give it another week. Then post the guy's name. Not as a Probation thing, because it wouldn't have been 30 days since the invoice. But to see if he has any compadres on the Boards that might be able to track him down outside the Boards. It may be a situation where life crept up on him and he hasn't been able to check the Boards and it has just slipped off his radar. But once you get to 30 days, you pretty much should go full on Proby thread to protect the community. He will still have a chance to make it right and get off the list.
  11. It is much harder to find than Spider-Man #1 (1990). So it's got that going for it, which is nice.
  12. Why don't you like to buy comics over 9.0? Anything higher cuts into the Mego and Coke Zero money.
  13. My opinion won't change. You are chock full of doucheyness no matter who you are. (thumbs u
  14. Sure it is. Presentation counts, however. And he presents like a douchenozzle.
  15. Those Planets are the first books I've seen that make me want to collect Golden Age. Wow.
  16. Response here - plenty more where these came from. I love when Mike brings out racm posts. Its like watching a silent movie. Indeed, both were revolutionary for their time and changed the rules of the game...I started buying/selling on racm in '96, and on ebay the following year. I have some "interesting" comments on RACM re: CGC from '99 as well, and boy have I sure changed my tune! The dial up auctions . . . Sure loved those - they really taught one how to grade from a black and white photo slightly larger than a postage stamp. I still have a ton of the books from those days. I bought a ton from you. There was a guy out in Arizona that had sweet Bronze (Randy or Roger?) a guy in New England that had amazing Charltons (no that is not a non sequitor) and a couple other guys. That was a fun time to collect.

  18. Troy is absolutely top notch. Great communication and an all-around good guy.
  19. I don't believe I am lucky. I have let many buyers out of deals. Although I believe in the integrity of the little takeit guy I also believe that if the seller and buyer do not wish to continue they are not obligated. I am more surprised by the 3rd parties post resolution comments then anything else. I have no stake here but it is ironic that you called out someone else for backing out of your deal because they were not comfortable with the terms. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3968287&fpart=51 There really is no irony there if you read what happened. Jeff gave him the opportunity to back out and he didn't. Then he busted out a chargeback for trumped up ridiculous reasons. I am not a fan of how Jeff handled things with Menace, but they worked it out and that is what these threads are all about. Everyone else's agenda is moot. But really, keep on beating the drum, it keeps popcorn sales chugging along.
  20. Memo to self. Stay on Count's good side. Do not take him up on offer to carpool to the post office.
