  1. You shouldn't be too upset about the FM's. They are notoriously tough in grade. That is a very nice set you have there. (thumbs u
  2. I bet your unedited post would have been funnier . . .
  3. How about getting your wife to wash that toque? Good thing you are not trying out for the Legion of Hygenic Heroes.
  4. I paid $65 for a CGC 9.4 copy. I really want to get a JV SS book done, so I probably paid a premium but I don't care. Now I just need him to show up somewhere.
  5. Those Caliber books were bought and read! Most raw copies you see at cons are beat up. I bought all mine already slabbed with the exception of the CP that I SS'd. What was JJ selling the CP for?
  6. The Crow is a really amazing series. I saw the movie first and then went back and picked up the trade. As good as the movie was, and even weighed down with the tragic death of Brandon Lee, it still could not convey the crushing sense of melancholy and existential angst that the comic produced. I think it is a masterpiece, and O'Barr's artwork holds up strongly as well. I got my 1 and 2 and a Caliber Presents auto'd by him at WWTX, this year, but I didn't think to have him sign the back cover of the CP. Nice work, Chris.
  7. Thanks. I actually haven't been able to find out, and I've been looking for a number of reasons. Only found one bio on-line, and it didn't say. Please post if you do find out. It may be impossible to get an SS from him, but I sure would love to get a book signed if at all possible. He was positively prolific for Charlton in the early 70's.
  8. You're right...a very tough issue to find in HG. In fact, your's is the nicest I've seen... Jim
  9. I have a really nice copy of the book below. I'd be willing to part with it if you're interested. If Paul doesn't want it, I do.
  10. Hey paul, The only good thing about higher prices is that some of the books are coming out for the first time in a long time. I picked up a CGC 9.4 Scooby Doo #1 at Mid-Ohio last year. I had previously never seen that book above Fine condition. Some of them seem a lot easier to find in HG than others. Never had trouble finding HG Valley of the Dinosaurs for some reason. But Hong Kong Phooey and Wheelie are pretty doggone tough.
  11. You should be. Those books are breathtaking. Most of them I have never seen above 7.5-8.0. Do you have any high grade #1s that you are looking to move? Unfortunately I haven't found them yet, but I am working on it. Heck, I'm still not sure what I want to do with these books. I suspect it could be an effort in futility to try and complete a 9.6/9.8 run of any of these books much less the Li'l Kids run. And if I should choose to sell them...I mean where do I even come up with a price point? There is no GPA and no others on the census. I do have my undercopy of PtLP #2 @ CGC 9.2 that I will be getting rid of at some point in the future. In my opinion, you should put these in one of the C-Link focused auctions or some other auction format and let the market decide what the value is. They are amazing and it wouldn't surprise me if there are folks out there waiting for high grade copies to try and put together the best set possible. Keep me in mind if you track down 9.4+ copies of Homer #1 or Li'l Kids #1!
  12. They are tough in any grade. I didn't think they existed in that grade.

  14. That #110 is one of my favorite Avengers covers. I just love all of the bright colors on that cover! I love that Kane cover too, but why did Magneto pee his pants??
  15. No, but after seeing his collection is it even worth it.... Absolutely it is. It will be a great checklist and a place for us to arrange trades of doubles and make sales and just generally get all geeked up about the Goon. PS: I can't believe he has a 9.8 Best Cellars. that is just sick.
  16. Kudos to Jespersen for a box of goodness from SD: Umbrella Academy 1 (Lim.) 9.8 Gerard Way SS Superman Wedding Album 9.8 Signed and sketched by Dan Jurgens 'Tec 627 9.6 Norm Breyfogle Both Requiem Covers 9.8 Tomasi and Mahnke (Thanks for getting the sketch!) Kiss 4k 9.6 signed by Paul and Gene Thanks, JJ.
  17. Kudos to Chris (ffcomics) for a sweet Dime Press Mignola SS
  18. Kudos back to you Charlie. Nothing better than a sweet trade except a sweet trade with freebies thrown in!!!!
  19. Why the huuuuge disparity? That makes me question CGC more than the first guy who seems to have sour grapes. . . Brittle pages
  20. No and no. Mine is the one that was in Nik's grading contest. I bought it raw at Bookery Fantasy last year when they had a sweet horror collection come in.
  21. He doesn't want my super sweet top census copy.
