I got my Caliber Christmas book SS'd by J. O'Barr in Chicago and it came back 9.8. Booyah. I'll get a digital pic of it up in the next couple of days. It took me forever to find a nice raw copy of that book (thanks MSchmidt).

Karma had better represent, and soon. This story makes me sick to my stomach.

Is the case cracked or something else wrong with it, as if it is fine the way it is, I'd leave it alone. The more folks you have handling a book, the greater the chance something can happen. Everyone recognizes this book as his 1st full appearance. I wouldn't kill myself over needing the updated label to state this. Know what I mean? +1 The only time I would crack it out is if I were getting it SS'd.

CGC is treating it like a preview issue, like the Absolute Vertigo issue is for Preacher. That is probably the best way to handle it. This is how they are listing it on slabs right now : "1 page Goon preview pre-dates Goon #1 from Avatar Press (3/99)" I don't know if this is a new annotation or not. I just got my first copy slabbed.

I don't think RockMyAmadeus was talking about Mike Grell's excellent Jon Sable Freelance in his previous post. I'm sure the Silver Sable reference was about something else. At least, I hope so. Since his parenthetical immediately followed a reference to 90's drek, it definitely was a reference to the hideous 90's Marvel, Silver Sable, and not the decent 80's Grell book.
