  1. That's a slippery slope. I'm sure pretty much any purchase/sale on the boards could be looked over and someone would find it price gouging. If someone asks you to grade a high grade book that you would not normally sub wouldn't you ask for a premium? Not sure if I personally would go the 2x GPA route but since GPA seems low to me for a hard to find book and considering grading cost. I've overpaid for books that I wanted, but I also know that I'm doing so. Metal admitted to ignorance on GPA and pricing and maybe it's his fault for not doing his research. But if we're supposed to be a "community", I don't think taking advantage of someone's ignorance is a good thing. I Agree with Logan I think it is super.
  2. George, these are amazing. On your 1st Hot Topic copy, you neglected to add that it was signed by Ian McDiarmid - which is a hell of a selling point!!
  3. They aren't worth enough, I agree. To me a NM SOTST 21 should be $200 and a 9.8 s/b 1k. So I bought 25 of them I think they are terrific value. Books 1/10 as interesting and just as common go for the same money. 20 and 21 did spike in the 80's, but it seemed like the hotness went from Indy B&W, to hot artists, to Bronze reboots and 1st apps, and more hot artists - then the summer of Batman, more hot artists, X-men 1 Spidey 1 and Spawn 1 then huge dump.
  4. Significantly. I would never grade a book with a clip-out above a Good. If it affects story it should be an automatic Fair.
  5. This is hilarious. I am almost positive that this is a book that I spec-ed on. I only did it for two or three months. The winners were Morning Glories 1 and Sixth Gun 1 and the losers (previously) were The Scourge and Scarlet. Time to start digging.
  6. Exactly. It was so mean he would have been pming people about it for weeks. Ain't nobody got time for that.
  7. You are now my czar of PR We need to fly to Sarasota on Monday Got Newton rings in your sector - call hector. Slabbed book leaning in awkward vector, call hector Try to buy on Craigslist from Hannibal Lector - call hector.

  9. I got all of my copies out of a quarter bin - first prints. They take a press great, but some copies have color rubs, especially on the back. The ones with no color rub were all 9.8 after press.

Why did you send me an eBay link to a book I already have and am not looking for? Did you bother to read my post before replying?? The book I mentioned that I have never physically seen is some sort of "virgin" cover with no price or title. Maybe some type of ashcan? Well thanks for replying. I only ask that the read my comment first. Sooooooo anyway... Anybody with any info on the actual book I'm speaking of? Why would anyone help you when you go out of your way to act like a rude jackoff? Soooo anyway, get stuffed.

  13. That book could easily settle in at the $250-300 range, even with the additional copies that that sale will no doubt loosen up. Two very important characters who also have rainbow connections.
  14. Is it fan art that is contained in that issue? I have a full run of Bullseye, but I can't get to it. Inquiring minds want to know!
  15. Thanks! Stardust looks great. How thick is the case? Did they put it in an extra thick TBP case or is it in the standard case? Considering the same thing myself next time Charlie is doing a signing. Nah, it's a regular case (unless all six cases within arm reach of me are big cases). Heads up, he'll be at WW Chicago in August, and I think Tamp Bay Comic Con. My Stardust books are in thick cases (old style). I don't know how those compare to the new style cases.
