  1. I've done that. It's become more important with the increasing instances of guys who mess up and then change their names several times. I do it too. Eliminates the need to keep a list off boards. Of course, I have other people on ignore for other reasons. I refuse to do business with those people as well. If I don't want to interact with you, why would I want to buy from you or sell to you? And yes, that means I sometimes miss a comic or two but it's all good because I don't subscribe to Cool Books I'm not a fan of lists. I recognize that all of us have a basic right to want to avoid people we dislike, but in some sense it is a luxury feature of a message board and imo it is not a positive feature. Concretely speaking it is inconsistent to run a sales forum where in every other respect buyers and sellers are held to strict standards of public obligation and yet in that which is most basic to real time commerce, the service of the public without discrimination, we have an ignore function to filter the clientele by personal whim. In most American states, it is only illegal to discriminate in a retail setting if the discrimination is on the basis of race, sex, national origin etc. it historically has been, and continues to be, legal to discriminate based upon the actions of the prospective buyer. So rudeness, stupidity, prior bad acts etc. are all acceptable bases for legal discrimination.
  2. This thread got the scrubbing bubbles treatment.
  3. Send a PM to tysalazar - he has a good handle on the Akoni situation, and he can likely get you to the right person if he can't help. Edit: he is tysalazar57 I am sorry that I forgot the "57."
  4. #86 was hotter than 87 for several months. Because that was the first RL art on NM. Believe it or not, in those days (and I know all you old guys know this) an artist's first work on a series rivaled or even exceeded first appearances of major characters. And as I have posted many times, when I sold a copy of Hulk 181 in late April / early May of 1990, I got the dealer to throw in 10 copies of Guardians of the Galaxy #1 (which was brand new that week) and the rest of his stock of NM 87s (it was somewhere between 5 and 10 of those). I am pretty sure that either 89 or 90 was on the stands at that point. I got between $25 and $50 a piece for the 87s when I was doing shows in '91 and '92. And I felt like I got over, big time, until this latest price explosion. Please enjoy this anecdotal, non-empirical, evidence.
  5. Out of curiosity Sean what creators/books/labels are you looking for? If this is too personal you don't have to respond, or you could PM me. Regular SS - Anyone that I don't have - mostly rarer stuff, but also some moderns where I have missed the boat: Examples are Marshall Rogers, Jim Aparo, Mike Wieringo, Mike Esposito, maybe an Al Plastino, Mart Nodell, Craig Flessel, Luis Domingues, Graham and Roy on a Prophet book, a single-digit Bone book, Sandman artists that I don't have . . . Celebrity SS and Sketches - anything that is awesome.
  6. Which Cable #1? The 1992 mini, or the 1993 regular? By the 1992 mini, it still had legs. But by the 1993 #1, it had lost most of its steam, and began the long, slow march into discount box status. But, like many of these books, it was never really a "dollar box" book (like you've said of New Mutants #98, though NM #98 was much, much more likely to be one.) You generally had to pay $5 or so for a copy on eBay throughout the 90's/00's. Does anyone here know if there was an error printing for either issue 1 of the 1992 mini or the regular series from 1993? I believe the gold embossed #1 issue ("Future Destiny") has an error that is similar to the Venom: Lethal Protector error - the Gold Embossing did not adhere or was not properly applied to the cover.
  7. I would do it. I have some double and blue labels that i would love to trade for SS books I need.
  8. It's been around forever, n00b.
  9. They can also do one day wrist slaps. Not that I would know from extensive personal knowledge.
  10. Edit - 12 year old kids shouldn't be on this site
  11. Just do an acknowledgment in the terms and conditions that anyone who posts the certifies that they are 18.
  12. Congrats. Very few will know how tough that book is. The bottom line is that, if they were in a collection, they were read. And they are tough to find unread in the wild!
  13. You left off the Jr. Oh yeah, If you'd like a $1 refund, I'll happy send it to you via PayPal. Well, junior, I wouldn't want to break you, being that $1 was a high enough bar to keep you from doing the right thing in the first place. For you sweet cheeks, I can send $2. And FWIW, there was a time when I felt bad that Beau's books were damaged. And believe it or not, it wasn't intentional. However, you've done a fine job of making sure those feelings are long gone.... How do you "unintentionally" throw a comic in a paper envelope with no cardboard or padding to protect them and then ship them as far away as Europe that way? Do you ship books out of your business that way? Ever? I am glad my complaints have allowed you to become even more callous about how you placed no care into how Beau's books were shipped. There's nothing like having your read on a person to be 100% confirmed. You took no responsibility and didn't seem to care at all when I mentioned it when it happened. I am not shocked it's even more in your rear view now. So what exactly are you looking for? What would you have me do? Serious question since you're the omniscient one around here......
