  1. That movie was not worthy of such an awesome book, Doug. That is really great.
  2. I really think it is either StarHawk (tie-in to the Star-Lord name plus light based powers make him somewhat "angelic") or Starfox (tie-in with name, Thanos' brother, and emotional powers may have made Peter's mom think he was "angelic")
  3. You should take me to Peter Lugers for the bacon appetizer and some beers. I'll pick up the porterhouse.
  4. Sean, really? *I* need to take a course in customer service? I can "take umbrage" or be annoyed at anything I want outside of my business. That doesn't mean I'm not friendly and polite to all my customers and bend over backwards to make certain they're all happy. Two different things. Whatevs. You don't have to worry about me in that regard.
  5. Thing is that packing things correctly does not seem to be the norm so those who have not dealt with you do not know what to expect. Bullchit. That's what feedback, DSRs and feedback comments are for. My feedback is loaded with comments on how well I pack my comics and everything else I sell. All they have to do is look. Lazy bums. Chip, your rating is meaningless to me. Your deal was with them and not me. I just purchased a $600 item this morning from someone. Damn straight that I asked for it to be well protected. It's not laziness. It is called protecting my interests after too many bad experiences. Too often than not we see people on these boards saying that 'no one ever said anything before' or 'I always ship things out like this without a problem.' Anyone that takes umbrage at a polite request to be mindful of safe packaging needs to take a course in customer service. Good grief. You see it as polite. I see it as borderline insulting. Writing handle with care on a package is just that. Your insinuating that they were not going to until you said something. They may have forgot, thank goodness you reminded them. See it any way you want to see it. Only man-baby collectible dealers would slam their collective breakfast burritos down in anger at a suggestion from their customer that they be careful.

  7. If they do... I think its very possible, they will tie kung fu into the Doctor Strange "mythical" realm, and with Strange, and likely the Defenders as well, appearing in Infinity War I am sure they will try to ground magic in with science via Quantum Mechanical effects etc. They need Kung Fu to be relevant, and they like to use the more modern and lesser known source material for a lot of what they do. It will be interesting to see what they do with magic and by extension whether they include K'un L'un in the Iron Fist milieu. It seems like the easiest thing to do would be a John Wick style gun fu. That would probably be great TV, but losing the mystic side, as a big iron fist fan, would be sad. They never really explained how Scarlet Witch's powers worked. I always liked the Bronze Age way of handling her - she had a finite amount of "internal" energy and when it was gone, she is done. Dr. Strange, on the other hand, knew spells, and could tap into external energies. Will Marvel have him summoning the Flames of the Faltine, and the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, or will he just be able to do whatever he wants, more like Green Lantern? If they don't put boundaries on it, it might start to look silly compared to the tech, cosmic and science heroes. So how do they keep the mystic aspect interesting, without "de-powering" everyone else? It will be interesting to see. I definitely want to see Shao Lao!!
  8. One day science will make it possible for every book to be returned to its original pristine condition. We will all own perfect copies of every book. And all our collections will then be rendered worthless. And it will be the end of the world. All the books I love have writing on them, so I am already screwed.
  9. Duh. A press and a dry clean is what every book needs.
  10. I thought you wore a monocle constantly anyway, like Mr. Peanut. It's a good look.
  11. i think it is "in the mail" (media) The buyer waited how many days? (I dunno, never saw an official number) so I'm sure he can wait a few more. Bullcarp. I have been slow to ship many times. But what I have not done is left buyers hanging, and disrespect them by not staying in contact. I stay in contact with them to let them know that I am mindful of the fact they have held up their end of the bargain, and that I, though not as quickly as I should, am going to hold up mine. Is it childish to act like that? Yes (I should know about childish) but ultimately if the buyer gets the item he pays for, then things are ok. No. They are not. They suck. At that point the seller has not done anything criminal. Nor likely anything for which any type of civil redress (other than your suggested shunning) is available. That is such a low bar. That is not OK. Funny...at the end of the day, it doesn't affect me one way or another and ultimately, its not my concern. If you want to stage a witch hunt, be my guest but to get all fired up over such a small amount of money seems to be counterproductive. No witch hunts...but no free passes or dismissals of poor behavior because it doesn't hit magical (and arbitrary) dollar figure. Getting the books is not "all that matters". Small amounts of money get people in trouble all the time. Failure to chip in a small amount for the proper shipping of an item (in this case to make up for his own mistake) is what it was worth to this seller to show himself for what he truly is selfish, self-interested, and ultimately, spiteful. The term.. "Pennywise - Dollar Foolish" endures for a reason. Whether it's done for $0.50 cents or $500 doesn't make the treatment any more or less improper. Removing myself from this discussion b/c we clearly will not agree. via Imgflip Meme Maker
