  1. I love dogs, but I wont have another until I have a bit more time .

My last dog was a cross Lurcher and I had her for 17 years. Miss her so much.

Still hoping to see a photo of your Swissie.

heres his puppy pic from the breeder

I cant find a recent pic of him in my photobucket account (shrug) but hes close to double that size now. Now, he'd come up WELL past her hips if he was in the same position. Like i said, unless you've had a HUGE dog, people are shocked by his size. If you have like a Lab or German Shepard or a "big" dog like that, he dwarfs one of those :o

He is gorgeous and he was the cutest pup. (thumbs u

  2. I have an old catalogue that I bought from where AF #15 is £350 & ASM is £300.

Its all relative, I had just started work and my wages were around £10 per week at the time so these books were just as unaffordable then.

If only I could invent a time machine. lol

Yeah I know what you mean Bro, but in the 90s i was spending 100s of dollars on back issues. Putting in orders with dealers, hitting LCS finding back issues....but all the stuff I was buying was newer stuff, and stuff that has really gone no where. Just wish i would have just gone after the keys and left the drek alone for later. Hindsight is always 20 20. :tonofbricks:

The late 80s & 90s for me was a boom time and that is the point when I completed most of my Marvel collection, I still did wrong as I worked backwards.

I was a big Spidey fan and picked up back issues from 200 back over, like you say I should have bought from #1 at that point and worked forward.

For me getting 10 issues rather than 1 key issue always seemed better value.

Big mistake, but I am still making the same mistake now with DC stuff.

I have most titles from about 1957 on but I am continuing to chip away at them with the cheaper stuff.

I should be saving for the Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman etc number ones.

I think that its just that they seem so unachievable, the same feeling that in that old catalogue AF #15 & AMS #1 had seemed.

I guess I will never learn. doh!

  3. Not being a Chelsea fan, I tried to watch the game as a neutral, but as it went on, the home spirit loomed in me and I couldn't help cheering them on especially against the Germans.

Its just too hard not to support a English team against foreign opposition.

With the exception of the mackems, though I doubt that I will ever be put in that position.

    Again, well done Chelsea.

    :applause:

  4. Here is a pic of my recently redone display. I was tired of all of my books languishing in their long boxes inside a dark cupboard so I decided to get them up and into my bookcase...

Top shelf is mostly Silver Marvel with some Bronze. Near complete Silver Surfer V1 collection and lots of Avengers and Daredevil. Underneath that is my modest collection of 11 slabs (hidden behind the Avengers book.) I'm quite new to the graded game so I'm building this collection slowly. Want to get a silver book for one of each of the main Marvel characters to give to my son when he is older

Below the lightsabers is my DC collection. I actually inherited the entire collection from a cousin who passed a few years back. Some wonderful Batman and Superman in there. I added lots of DC 100 pagers as they are my main focus for DC

It's not much, but it's mine and I love it. Really excited to start picking out stuff to read with my son in a few years. I want this to be a collection that's enjoyed by us both in the future

    Cool set up. (thumbs u

  5. I'm almost ashamed to post pics with the INSANE, AMAZING comic rooms you guys have. This my den which over the last 4-5 years, my wife has literally filled to the roof with hers and the kids .

Hard to believe, but it took me about 30 hours over the last month and 2 bulk pickups to even clear it enough that now you can walk around and theres actually spare room. A few more weeks a one more bulk garbage day and i'll actually be able to hang the stuff that needs hanging on the wall!

Problem is, i have a BUNCH of framed football jersey and other Cowboys/Syracuse plaques, pictures etc to hang so not sure what to do with them. I might find another part of the house to put them up so this can FINALLY be a true "comic room"

Like i said, its LAME AS HELL compared to what you guys have, , but since ive put so many hours into cleaning it up, heres the pics of what ive got so far (shrug)
