I had a British annual that I read to death as a kid that reprinted a Batman story with all the color's wrong. Years later when I eventually got the real comic I hated it as the colors just didn't seem right, color plays such a big part in memory I think, I can feel nostalgic just thinking about that book now

Yeah you are correct, I just did a quick look at the main titles and the latest issue I can find with definite chipping is FF#20 everything seems better after this. That said I always hated chipping so I may have steered away from it in my buying choices or maybe not, as a lot of the time there wasn't much choice, take it or you have to do without

They were a few threads on here back in time about which were printed first and a boardie who worked in the printers said that the UK copies were always printed first as they were used as test lots to prove everything was working correctly, not many people here understandably were keen to hear this and lots of arguing ensued I would bet blades were changed/sharpened as and when required and not before, if it was a big deal, the copies with chipping would have failed quality control and never made it out, I dont think they cared enough, they were only comics

I think it was like that for me a long time ago, I would go to a mart and come back with maybe 1 or 2 books, back in the day I would come home with a car full Last time I went to London I bought nothing and couldnt even find anything decent in the shops, I was after a Hulk #1 and no one had one for sale. Thats why I havent been in so long
