  1. Only my #10 and #12 are Pence, the rest are Cents
  2. I tried to write something like this last night, however I was very tired and failed to word it correctly and just gave up, so somehow, this is really my post and Steve just copied what I was gonna say
  3. I think I have read that story a long time ago too, I don't remember either but Mystery in Space or Strange Adventures would be my best guess
  4. Yeah, I once said to my missus when she came in with a load of shoes "So when you gonna have enough shoes" Her reply, "When you have enough comics" I just tip toed away from that one
  5. A bookshop I went to as a kid used to sell and trade back issues for 10p, at the end of the month any comic he hadn't sold would get a diagonal marker pen line through it and would go in the the 5p box, then he wouldn't accept the comics with the line through them back in trade as he thought that if he couldn't sell it for 10p in a month, he couldn't sell it at all, he ruined a lot of great comics
  6. Over here we had Double Double comics in the 1960s-70s, 4-6 cover stripped unsold random comics bound with a new cover, mainly DC but they could be Marvels in there too, the covers didn't always have anything to do with the contents and same cover books didn't always have the same interiors making them a completists nightmare. This was done by the distributor rather than the comic companies and it sounds like Thorpe & Porter ( distributor ) stole the idea from the St John distributor. I would guess looking at who the books were returned to rather than at St John may shed some light, sorry I know that's not a lot of help
  7. Surprised it didn't get done for colour touch, quite pleased though as my GS X-men #1 has a tiny bit of tippex on it
