  1. This is a little different than the average business failure. When the Mylar distributer goes out of business I lose my money I sent in. When this type business fails it is my assets that risks being lost well over and above a ‘fee for service’. It was big deal when Enron fails. It is another thing entirely when a bank fails. That’s why we have FDIC. A company holding assets of customers has a much greater responsibility than a company offering goods and services. If someone goes into business without that in mind then that is beyond irresponsible.
  2. I have added Canada/world to most of my - very rare - sales threads. But really the cost is prohibitive. Then there is the “Oh I am sure you can send it cheaper’ Points to please consider : The book is my responsibility until it is in your hands. I can not ‘cut down on packaging” and I won’t call you a ‘cousin’ or lie about value on the customs form. Books subject to opening and inspection by customs that are repackaged poorly or damaged on inspection, increase my liability. It also usually involves multiple trips to the PO to get shipping quote , then back again when the charge is paid. That being said it is mostly positive sending out of country. I just shrug when I get a PM “I would have bought it if the shipping weren’t so much’ That needs to taken up with USPS, not me
  3. If Mike is telling the truth and he has insurance he should make a claim NOW to refund the collected fees and then return the books. Insurance is for a rainy day, well it’s RAINIING now. I am not unsympathetic to anyone’s health woes, but when my local banker had a heart attack no one seized funds from my bank account and told me to ‘be patient you’ll get it all back… eventually …. Maybe…,
  4. Soft close PM me if you are interested in trades
  5. Take 25% off any book or take the 3 for $50 plus shipping!
  6. Thats it for this one Send offers per PM Trades also considered!
  7. Bats #249 This one has quite few spine ticks that bring it down. 6.0 $12
  8. Bats #248 Best of the bunch, just the slightest curl and some pressable defects. Date stamp back cover. 9.0 $50
  9. Batman #247 Presents well with bright colors, just sparkles in Mylar. 8.0 or better $35
  10. Bats #186, cool Joker cover Still quite a bit of gloss on this. Just an unfortunate chip lower edge, otherwise much higher. Feeling a 5.0 or better. $65 SOLD
  11. Selling just 4 raw Batman books. PayPal for this one Postage $8 US, will ship world wide but I have no control over costs. Last I checked (prior to price increase and it was about $48 to Canada) so figure $60 or so Returns are fine but please return 7 days from receipt in the same condition you received it. Return postage on you unless I missed something. On one on any bad lists, but if you make things right with those you have wronged and get yourself off the list, I believe in second chances. in the thread or by PM by time stamp, but if I can’t determine who was first, in the thread wins the tie. I reserve the right to correct typos before any sale.
  12. X-MEN 184 9.4 29 ... 1st FORGE /Newstand this too if still available, Thanks Jimbo!
  13. He pressed about 500 Bronze for me about 8-9 years ago. Got a lot of 9.8’s. But pressed drek does not translate to handling high priced books responsibly
  14. I should have taken pictures of the book, but the boardie who sold it to me had one. For what it is worth, a 1.8 trimmed on all sides. Seemed worth the flier, oh well guess NOT
  15. Sent him the book in 2019 After numerous calls and emails I get an email in 2022 saying “Your book is started and I will send you updates as it goes along Then nothing. At this point I know it is gone. And spending Lawyer money is a waste of time. If he filed for bankruptcy then it is all over. He becomes immune. Oh well expensive lesson
  16. A couple of drek books to add to the collection. I know this because neither one has a single copy in the census
  17. He stole my Amazing Fantasy #15. He just took it and ran along with $3.2 K to restore it. He is a turd. Write it off and never go near him
  18. Sold a few books. The TTA #1 did fantastic, Conan Annual #1 9.6, way under last sale but did fine considering I got it to my door at $60. ST #72 was a beat-down but it was a throw away, since the other 2 books turned a nice profit. Not lucrative selling, but clearly I am happy. More dollars to plow back into collecting while prices are rock bottom.
  19. The punisher has been done to death. How long could Peter Parker remain in high school or flunking college. Time to move on already, try a new angle or something. Maybe not this, but TRY anything.
  20. This is very different than the cookie cutter resets. How many #1 cover variants on ASM are we up to now? The resentments here sound like the ‘wash rinse and repeat’ method is better than trying something a little different. The ‘new Coke’ in a round about way breathed new life into the old product, so why not here? I like that the house of ideas has returned, even if the results were disappointing.
