    I say go for it - for me, it's more of a semi-retirement project. Living in Canada it would be tough to get permission, but that's where my (eventual ) experience would come in.

    To confirm: CGC staff cannot sell their books. They can still buy and collect, and they have specialists in different areas. I don't know about you guys, but if I saw an Amazing Spider-Man #252 (love) and a Spawn #1 (not a fan) with the exact same 1 inch tear on the back cover, I would grade it the same.

    That's simply not true - Steve Borock has been documented saying (while he was still there) that CGC staff are mainly fanboys who love the hobby themselves. Ask Timely if he was not allowed to collect comics.
