  1. well, I think we are all blessed if we have the lifestyle to computer gab and collect awesome stuff! I love BWS and Weapon X. I have a page on my wall as well. Got it directly from BWS Studios.
  2. I bought 2 Kamandi slabs off Heritage last night. It seems they are going to ship them with my OA from the same auction, this is a nice surprise as clink made me checkout separately for my slabs and OA. It is freeing having absolutely no idea what the GPA or expected value of the slabs I am buying is. I just buy it if I like it. I have too many already, but I figured it was worth trying to combine shipping with the OA I already bought so I bid and "won". I bought the OA to hopefully flip for trade later in the month. If I cannot get it put into the trade I will PIF it perhaps. But if I get it taken in the trade then the slabs become essentially free, which is the goal. Anyway, here are the slabs I got at Heritage last night, paid for but not yet shipped. I bought these for the one on the left particularly. I may move the other one if anyone wants it, it is $28 shipped! I show many of my purchases here before I have them in hand but will post pictures of them on the shelves when they actually arrive.
  3. I can also trade for some devastatingly awesome art, but that would take some awesome slabbage and maybe some cabbage as well. Arantza Sestayo Red Sonya graphite on 11x17 Darwyn Cooke over dave Bullock layouts - Wonder Woman REAR
  4. I am mainly interested in Dr. Strange and related titles such as the Defenders or even Tomb of Dracula. Inhumans. Early Valiant by BWS and other Barry Smith titles such as his X-Men issues and Conan if I decide to spend some cash. Frank Miller covers: Valiant and classic Marvel/DC moreso than modern Dark Horse. Great covers by Walt Simonson, Art Adams, Jim Steranko. X-Men. Spider-Man. Great covers with The Falcon, preferably a Kirby Falcon.
  5. More OA for trade Andy MacDonald (pencils, inks) Red Warrior p 84 Andy MacDonald (pencils, inks) Red Warrior p 85 Andy MacDonald (pencils, inks) Red Warrior p 86 Andy MacDonald (pencils, inks) Red Warrior unlabeled page Andy MacDonald (pencils, inks) Red Warrior p 96
  6. thanks jimbo! Hey anyone want to trade? I have some OA I would trade for some slabs if anyone wants. Rachel Ketchum / Rick Magyar Star Trek : TNG page 6 Rachel Ketchum / Rick Magyar ST: TNG page 7 Rachel Ketchum / Rick Magyar ST: TNG page 8 Karl Moline X-Men Origins: Emma Frost page
  7. Great page Malvin. I love Matt's creator owned work but fear it is becoming a forgotten and neglected part of comics. I doubt we will ever see Hero Destroyed (was that the intended name?) and that is a shame. Great Kirby splash though, keep it up!
  8. well, here are the twins I adopted recently. They have yet to arrive in my home but I have the room ready for them.
  9. No, I love that people are having conversation. No derailing possible in my journal. JJ Rockers...you guys are killing me. And my bachelor party started at Bourbon Street in Sayreville before limo'ing to NYC Flashdancers, where I had to stuff the tablecloth in my mouth to keep from throwing up, which I saved for the sidewalk outside shortly thereafter.
  10. Hey Frankie good to see you around. I have family in East Windsor New Jersey, does that count? My best friend in college was East or West Windsor. You know the Zisman's? And yes, bird's getting some slabs!
  11. I don't see that street in this area. Think you meant Lake Haiwtha. That's like exit 45 off 80. Not quite, but I was indeed confused. The wife is from White Meadow Lake and her friend and husband lived in Lake Hopatcong. The Lake itself is quite nice in the warm weather. You should not only judge it on the winter, that is indeed a barren cold area but really nice in the spring and summer.
  12. My wife grew up in Lake Hopatcong, small world. Dacotah Drive. We live in Middlesex near Rutgers now. spidervacc, I am well acquainted with Old Bridge. My condolences as well. ;-)
  13. For the first time I bought 4 slabs from comiclink - the auction that ended on 1/26. I paid by check; the check was cashed - any idea of what the time frame is at this point until I get them? I may have gotten two copies of the same Defenders issue, but I still want them in hand.
  14. Ya'know, I think it was in the Liefeld threads that you drove me crazy after a few days and I put you on ignore briefly. I started toggling and seeing nothing driving me crazy so I un-ignored. This post has assured me of the wisdom of the second decision and the haste and misjudgment of the first. My apologies kind sir. I erred. Your taste in comics is impeccable.
  15. SS4 is the best cover. Ever. The cover is so dynamic and the power that is inferred makes it a magnificent piece of art. Two full figures in such dramatic poses on one comic board - I have had about a dozen recreation/homages done just to see how other artists handle that challenge.
  16. well, the first photo is crappy but since I wrote about the light so much I left it!
  17. Okay, I traded some art (bought specifically for trading and possibly PIF) for this slab so here it is on the wall. I never thought one way or another about that sliver or light that escapes the blinds until putting my slabs on the shelf. That sliver travels about 1.5 feet between those slabs along the ridge of that shelf as the sun goes down. The wife in under strict orders to get the shades up and she just took my specifications for installation. It is good to have a partner, I can't sew for spoon. Here it is up close. These slabs will likely be displayed on the top closet shelf when my MCP slabs come. Once everything ordered arrives I will have too many for my display area, at least until I clean out some sports memorabilia to may more room. Once the shades hit this weekend the shelf will get fuller and I will throw some pictures up.
  18. Well, I don't even know what that means and don't feel any desire to be a crackhead. Crackish, yes. But if it means getting every BWS cover comic in 9.8 or better, yeah ...I am doing that. (Just kidding!)
  19. Here is the slab that started the whole trade ball rollin' I cannot wait to have them in hand!
  20. No, I am an OA guy through and through. The ten slabs will sit on the wall under a page from the series that cost about 10x what those slabs cost! I have over $25K in OA framed on the walls in all likelihood, so it would take a while before the slabs could catch up. Thanks though, yes I am all in. The thing is, I wanted to sell that art and he wanted to sell his slabs and we probably both think it is easier to sell the thing we want rather than the thing we have. And I am enjoying the slabs immensely.
