  1. Okay folks, here is a new run to take a look at, and now priced individually! You don't see these books very often and likely not up for sale in a run. Enjoy!!
  2. Looks like this thread needs to have some new stuff added to keep the entertainment value up for the boardie's. I will get things moving again with a few more listing for Saturday night.
  3. Well that reply has me laughing, I will put Mr. Dopey Duck with the other books you have set aside. Let me know if you want me to send you what you have set aside or if you want to continue shopping.

  5. It has been a long week for me folks and I am headed off to bed, so I will reply to your question etc... tomorrow. Thanks to all of you that have made this sales thread very successful so far, I appreciate the collector community that is here and that many of you peeps buy stuff. I have more cool stuff to come, but I only have so much time between my day job and then posting items here that I hope people are interested in. I am enjoying posting these books far more than I thought I would as I am getting to know some of you personally. So thanks to those peeps that have reached out and given me some insight into how long you have been collecting, and cool sh&t that you all have. Thank you to all of the folks that have contributed to this thread. I'm really interested to see where it goes from here.
  6. Sorry, needed to spend time on the day job yesterday answering questions Health Canada sent to my company. I will try to list a few new things this afternoon for everyone's entertainment and perusal. Hope people are enjoying this thread and the bits of info I sprinkle in throughout. I think it is the historical meme of golden age comics that fascinates me the most. This was American folklore that was created, and what I find particularly interesting is that many of these folks that became artist or publishers that created this folklore were immigrants mostly from Europe. Some of these folks were first generation immigrants, or their children became artists and crafted the funny books that we see today as second generation immigrants. It is no wonder that the super heroes that were created were always on the crushing side of the allied forces depicted as gross comic caricatures of themselves, as this must have been somewhat how they were viewed by these folks that suffered under these rulers.
  7. Ohhh, I see. You guys want to see some more stuff, and new things that I have not posted just yet. Let me see if I can satisfy the golden age tooth before I call it a day.
  8. I know I am having a lot of fun with this thread and posting some interesting tidbits along the way. Thanks for the compliment.

  10. I have been collecting these King Feature Syrocos for some time, finally put them all into a display case with an advertisement backdrop out of a newspaper that advertised them. Some of the figures with skinny legs are hard to find in good shape as the composition of the material used to make these can be brittle, so you see a lot of them with broken legs. They make for a nice display and are not terribly expensive to collect. Ebay is a good source for them.
  11. Thank you Prime Time for posting this pictures. Wish there was a much higher resolution version of this, but it does look like the composition of Suspense Comics #3 next to a Green Hornter book next to it. Might be the only picture of Suspense #3 captured in the wild while on the news stands. If I was a kid I would have spent my dime on this book.
