1. There is no Amazing Man #5 Mile High? I believe that is the #6 that is circled at the top of the list.
2. OK, so all the books in this shot are not Cheslers', but…. [/img]
3. Here are a few Centaur's that I have picked up. That is Amazing Man #22 that is coverless in this shot. Anybody want to help a guy out there? [/img]
4. Better get in line. My turn has finally come for another one! Behold my new Heshka!!!

6. Wow! Just wow! Ryan is just exceptional......
7. I was pretty curious about this and found this at this linky. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8276673
8. My perspective is the Suspense #4 is probably more scarce than the #3. You don't see a #5 often either. For Chesler, the Punch #12 is not seen often, but maybe less than 30 copies out there? The Dynamic #8 is rarely seen, so maybe less than 20 of those out there. The Scoop #2 is also not seen to oftern, I would say less than 20 copies of that book as well. Truly scarce in my opinion is Wonder Comics #1 and #2, the issues preceding Wonderworld. Wow What a Magazine, all issues are less than 10 copies I feel. These are all off-beat titles that I have coveted since I began collecting in the 80s', so I am gauging my scores based on my experience. I came back t ammend this post. Another book that I did not know existed until last year was a authentic Blazing Comics #5. You see these things all the time, there are tons of them out there, but almost everyone is some remainder book with the #5 cover. What I am talking about is a true #5 book that contains the last Green Turtle story. Jeez I am such a dork for knowing such things.
9. Great thread. Great achievement as well. What I especially appreciate with this effort is just the goal of collecting the run with no particular emphasis on specific grades and no slabbed copies at all. Lots of interior scans could therefore get shared. This thread is what I liked best about this forum. Cheers!
10. It might be close to first zombie, but I think Speed Comics #1 precedes it. Check it out at Digital Comic Museum Anyone have an earlier zombie.
11. The name on this cover is Paul Jones. Name in the coupon for the Animal Antics is Paul Mittelbusher. So do we have two different lineage of Paul books? What is the back story on these books. Seems like they just recently came to market?
12. That would be me who that copy went to. Just got it today. The hunt is on for a cover. I see I missed out on one that was posted in October. Sardo snagged it for a great price. Guess it's possible.
13. aha!! so you are the one who outbid me cool pickup man just an awesome book both inside and out!!! GL!!!!! Yep, sorry about the last minute snipe. This book has been on my want list since the Gerber Guides first came out. absolutely no worries my friend I figured if I entered a bid 3 times the amount I was leading at the duration of the auction I still may get outbid...the auction had like 20 followers and it is a coveted book no doubt...I am happy it went to a boardie!!! I am confident I will own a copy or part of a copy at some point in my lifetime You can't argue the thrill of bidding on such a rare item is fun!! just happy to be a part of it!! GOOD TIMES!!!(thumbs u Great attitude. Like you, I put in the max I was OK with and just see how it goes. I was lucky. I think a lot of our fellow boardies may have been un-aware of this one.

15. Hey folks. I thought I would reach out via this thread to see if I can locate a front and back cover, or even an incomplete copy with cover of Amazing Man 22. If it does not ring a bell it is the Gustavson cover with the green Nazi gorillas.
16. sweet mary, mother of jesus!!!!.... I need a time machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The relative of Bailey's newsstand had stated this photograph of the walk in newsstand was taken with a large format camera. There is also a higher resolution picture link in this thread to the same picture. To the point. If you zoom in to the back window you can see the reflection of the folks in the picture plus what looks like the photographer with a large format camera probably on a tripod. Black and white film can take pictures at a pretty high resolution, and is large format camera even more so. Just a fantastic picture.
17. I recently bought a very interesting book from Gadzukes, Secret Missions. Very unusual and I am assuming rare book, since in all my years of collecting have I seen one. Grading was spot on, packaging was great, and the price was perfect. I encourage anyone interested in doing biz with Gadzukes to not give it a second thought.
18. So the New Fun you posted has a 1935 date. What is the date on that All American? I assume these stories are original content made for these books and not reprints. I believe many of the stories in the Wow books were originally printed in something called Wags, but I have never seen an issue, just going on memory there. Anything earlier than 1935 people?
19. Anyone ever considered Wow What A Magazine from 1936? Here is a splash page story from issue #2.
20. Anyone know what the highest grade is for a Scoop 2? Is there a Mile High or other pedigree copies?
21. You are correct in my opinion. The photos do not show the taped ares or water stain. I assume at this point it was purposeful, perhaps not. Giving seller benefit of doubt and giving him the opportunity to make things right. I have had great experience buying thing from EBay, and then not so much. It's too small of a collecting society to burn your bridges. That part I just don't get.
22. I just picked up a Scoop 2 off of Ebay. It was graded as a Fine minus, and had pictures of both front and back covers, plus inside front cover. Problem is, the book turns out to have been over graded quite a bit. It has tape on the inside front and back covers. The kind of tape that was put on a very long time ago and gets brownish and a little brittle. There is also a water stain across a number of pages at the right hand margin. Neither of these major defect were disclosed, and not visible or shown in the pictures. I have informed the seller as to the above and stated my dissatisfaction and asked him how he might want to proceed. What would any of you do in a similar situation? You can see the book at this link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Golden-Age-Scoop-Comics-2-Very-Rare-Classic-Lou-Fine-Cover-5-5-Fine-/151132643081?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
23. Does anyone know what A Scoop 2 goes for these days? Tried looking up some auction prices on Heritage, but it seems they have never sold one.
