Oooooh boy. That Batman Beyond #1 is a killer book. One of the few, along with Portfolio #1 that I am missing. I'll get one eventually . . . Please post a pic if you can. I'd love to see it.

That is gorgeous. I have a copy, but not slabbed. Still in search of Vol. 1. eBay had one under $100 recently. I probably should have grabbed it. Did you get to meet Darwyn? His Parker work was pretty extraordinary. It's what really drew me to his work.

That would be telling . . . the previous sale of another copy was between comic shops for $60. So, somewhere between $60 and $199. Still in all, I really want to know what it was printed for and how many were made.

Any other Cooke fans out there? He's my favorite creator. I am a complete-ist of sorts. I'm trying to acquire a copy of all of his published comic book work. (I don't have room for all the omnibus cover work he did for DC but they are cool too!) I think he's among the best cartoonists we've seen. Do you have any books by Darwyn you are chasing? Have pics of anything signed by him? Post it all here. I'll start with a few items. I'm looking for any and all info on The Twilight Children variant. I know of one other copy and they don't have a barcode. I'm assuming it was printed for a Con or Expo. Any info would be appreciated. I have a Starfire #3 variant, but it's in a competitor's slab. I was the buyer. I didn't pay $200. I would have gone to $200 if necessary, but didn't have to. The seller came to their senses.

Also, I have an issue of Sugar and Spike and I'm SURE I never went through it page by page. I'll have to do that. Are those rare in mid/high grade as well?

Thanks for the info! I hear you about writing inside, and I'm sure it makes NO difference, but the writing is neat and appropriate. Do you see a lot of these issues in your collecting experience and are they rare in mid/high grade?

Thanks. The simple lines and beauty of the colors really is lovely. The interior "fashion" design of the dresses and cut-outs is kind of amazing.

Thanks, and thanks especially for the opinion about the writing. Any Dell or Katy Keene collectors out there that can give me any historical info on this series would be greatly appreciated as well. Are there a lack of these in grade because of the interior cut-outs? All of the ones in this issue are in tact, but I can guess it would be pretty common for the paper doll patterns to be cut out.

Grades are wonderful and even better would be to let me know what kind of grade reduction (in points if possible) there is for the writing shown in the book. Thanks for your time!
