  1. Inexplicable. Am I jaded enough to think that the book was in the auction to "get fannies in the seats" with an out of touch reserve?
  2. That's a beautiful copy AJ! I won't say that I'll never sell mine, but it would take an insane number for me to part with it.
  3. To many collectors the current price doesn't dictate on whether you sell or not. There are countless collectors out there that rarely or never sell books in their collections.
  4. I'm not 100% positive it is the same copy, but it has that same tiny miswrap that the 9.0 had. I've been trying to hunt down the 9.0 sale but haven't found it yet. It is also my understanding that as long as you send the CGC label with the resub that you won't lose the pedigree status? Do you know how many copies the RM had of 227?
  5. someone probably got a preview night look and decided it could press to 9.6 Actually the Rocky Mountain Bats 227 was a 9.0 not too long ago. It sold about 2 or 3 CL auctions ago. The buyer pressed and resubbed it to a 9.4. And as far as GPA on a 9.4 goes, that $845 was one sale and the prior sales were in the $1,400 range. I think I remember the $845 copy, miswrap and cream/ow pages. Since there haven't been any other recorded sales in the past year, that $845.00 is a bit misleading. Nice, non-pedigree copes with OW or better pq and good centering should be in the $1,200-$1,500 range and the RM copy will probably go in the $1,800 - $2,200.00 range imo.
  6. In all honesty though, I'm in dire need of a Bat 227 upgrade. My 8.5 ain't doing it anymore. Rocky Mountain 9.4 coming up in CL's auction in 2 days. Bid early and often.
  7. So true on the centering. Did you upgrade? No. Gave up trying to find a nicely centered 9.6. Nicely centered meaning no white on the spine at all? I've had 2 copies in 9.6 and seen a few others and this one is the closest I could come to "nicely centered". That's a sharp copy.
  8. (thumbs u Sweet copy. This thread is both awesome and a curse. Awesome books yet more money to spend on issues I don't have.
  9. Agreed, tough book for some reason. Finally found my "right copy" a few months ago after searching in vain for years: Wow, exactly what I have been looking for. Well, if you ever tire of it or upgrade to a 9.6, let me know. Centering on this issue is great. Most have a back to front miswrap.
  10. [ Very nice high grade copy. Another toughie in 9.2 or higher is Bats 245. Still looking for the right copy of that one.
  11. 234's cover is very cool, far superior to the 232 IMO. I think it is the color scheme that I have a problem with on the 232.
  12. Your 227 is nice, looks higher than a 9.0 to me. The centering is outstanding too. I'd like to snag a Tec 400 soon. Have about 10 other books on my want list to get filled first. I like the 232 and think it will be a good long term book, I just like so many other covers better.
  13. (thumbs u I'd trade every book I own for the right Tec 31. That Tec 31 4.5 is the right copy... I'd love a 4.5 copy of that book...I'll be happy with one of the 4 4.0 copies that are out there somewhere... You mean like this? Yes, that one would do!
  14. nothin wrong with a nice reader copy, besides you have the real deal. I'd trade all my BA books for a copy of Tec 31. (thumbs u I'd trade every book I own for the right Tec 31.
  15. (thumbs u Love that Daredevil cover. I remember buying that issue when I was a sophomore in high school and it was hotter than fire. I think I got a bargain at the time of $20.00. If Alice was to be on a cover now, he'd be wielding a golf club without makeup. How time changes things.
  16. good grief!!!! The seller is dancing in the streets.
  17. Yes, you can call CGC and ask for graders notes. They will tell you what defects the books have and what each of the 3 graders graded the book at. The spine looks very nice on that 245. It's a very tough book to find in high grade especially in 9.2 and above. You don't have to answer, but did you get them in an auction? Welcome to the boards, by the way. (thumbs u
  18. Old label goodness on all but 1 of those. Nice books! Love me some Bats. That 245 looks very nice for an 8.5, did you call for graders notes? I wonder what it is keeping it from a higher grade....?
  19. This just arrived. The colors are quite vivid in hand. A shame I can't work photobucket too well.
  20. What a terrific cover! Think it's great? Support this cover by voting for it in the Ultimate Adams Cover Poll, Round 7. Right here: Adams Covers (Round 7) It was one of my selections. (thumbs u
  21. RE: Combos Does anyone use the 775 Mylites2 inside of an 800 Archive? I want to place an order but wanted to make sure the fit isn't too tight. Thanks in advance for anyone that responds. Scott
