  1. One last one before I call it a day: More next time!
  2. Just to mix things up a little, here's a triple cover: I am scanning through a mylar, so some of the defects shown in the scan are actually on the mylar (torn off price stickers and the like). Collecting double cover Thors and JIMs are my passion, second only to ASMs. This book is the only triple cover in my collection.
  3. Here is an interesting one... I know of several of these in existence, but this is the only one I know of without the notation that indicates the first cover has not been glued on. I called and confirmed with CGC that both covers are indeed attached.
  4. Here's mine! Not quite the 9.9 grade that you received for yours, but it will do.
  5. I bought this one off eBay...for $350 I think? Maybe a little bit more than a year ago. This may have been the same book as the one you are talking about, but it wasn't graded NM. I was very surprised and excited that I won the book. Definitely one of the favorites in my collection.
  6. Heh, we should definitely get together some time to compare notes. I know that your collection is far more extensive than my own. At any rate, I will post some more up today. Most of my ASM Double Covers are not yet slabbed.
  7. I also couldn't resist the novelty of having a CGC 9.9 Double Cover.
  8. I couldn't resist the novelty of a Double Cover Signature Series, so I sent this book to Paradise Comics to help get a signature.
  9. One of my first Double Covers. Purchased from a board member when I first joined these forums.
  10. Here is the ASM 129. The front cover is a 7.0 mainly because of the shmutz/crease on the top and the stresses on the spine. Most of these defects did not translate over to the second cover.
  11. Kudos to jonjesper for a trading me his signed DKR with slipcase!
  12. Very nice. Odd that they don't assign an interior cover grade. I guess when you have feral cats for employees, they don't have opposable thumbs to open up the pages.
  13. That's a nice one. I should have known that my snipe wasn't high enough. My scanner is on the way! I'll definitely try to get it up some time next week! I'll also include a scan of my CGC 9.4 #100 also! Happy Holidays!
  14. Life has been hectic in a good way, so I have been very busy. When I really get back into the swing of things, we should chat again. I'm glad you won those last few books. My collection is nowhere near as complete as yours, but I think I have a couple that could make you drool a little. Which one is your favorite so far?
  15. It happens a lot, though much less often now. I usually just set a snipe and let it ride. Otherwise, I tend to get crazy and bid some really ridiculous prices. At one point Terry and I decided to actually split auctions so that we aren't killing each other with our bids. Nowadays it's kinda pointless with some of these BSDs out there. I'm still waiting for that point in my life when everything is in alignment and I can start pursuing these things seriously.
  16. What do you think it grades at? It looks nice. Great snags Terry! Let us know what you think the #180 grades at. I wanted to bid higher, but the way the seller scanned the book scared the bejezus out of me. I remember a couple months ago when I used to win these double cover ASMs easily. Now my budget gets skinnier and skinnier while the prices go higher. Sometimes I'm at a loss as to whether not to bid at all so that you can win them at a lower price! Ah well, at any rate, when I get the scanner my girlfriend bought me for Christmas, I will post up some of mine also. I recently got back an ASM #129 from CGC. Offhand, I don't remember the grade for the top cover, but the bottom cover was a 9.2. Happy bidding!
  17. Kudos so far to: topofthetotem paperheart aces johnenock grifter my lcs owner for successful transactions Still more along the way!
  18. It took me a while to pick up the books. I figured that you paid quickly, the least I could do is ship it out the fastest way possible.
  19. Kudos to Korvac Saga for a deal on 3 great looking books and 6 metric tons of bubblewrap!
  20. Kew-dos to Herald2Galactus for paying so quickly on a successful transaction!
  21. Thank you for buying my book! You helped me pay for part of my purchase from Jeff (finecomics). Kudos for being so easy to work with!
  22. A really huge kudos goes out to Jeff (finecomics) for going out of his way to help a fellow collector out! Double cover Amazing Spider-Mans are hard to come by these days (especially when I am not actively looking for them). They are especially hard to find in the great prices that he found for me. Jeff made a purchase that involved 3 Amazing Spider-Mans for me at a fantastic price, much lower than if I purchased them all separately! This is why I love these forums! Collectors helping out other collectors!
  23. Kudos to Psiknight for a quick and painless transaction. Apologies for my delay in shipping your book out!
  24. Nice contribution! Except for that miswrap, this is quite a decent looking copy. You may even be able to resub for a higher grade (for the outer cover at least). It looks a little nicer than a F+ on the outside. Detective Comics and Batman double covers garner quite a bit of premiums lately as more high rollers are competing over them.
