  1. Why isn't there a Moderns that SHOULD be heating up thread? There is.
  2. I found these pics on this site. Here are some of my favorites. This link also has pics from 70's Chicago conventions.
  3. Someone asked him on Twitter and Rucka said it's ongoing.
  4. I believe it's the first appearance of the new Nova.
  5. To each their own, but I really don't get how anyone can be reading the book at this point and possibly think I'm just making it up as I go along. This always just sounds like people who dropped the book really early because it demanded too much attention-- which in and of itself is kinda depressing. And I think Casey, Hunter, Jade, etc. are pretty sweet kids, but then, I write them for a living Hi Nick, I've read every MG Issue.. The truth is I get really confused, and sometimes the different people blend together. I was about to stop reading, but that last issue was good and I'm going to at least finish the first 25. Hoping I have a "0h, now I get it moment". Nick Spencer posted this in the Morning Glories thread but since we're talking about MG here as well, I thought these links might be helpful for people currently reading or thinking of reading MG.
  6. It would've been issue 900 in the old numbering.
  7. MP print run was around 23k, so based on that figure, I'm guessing EOW will be higher at about 27,500
  8. Here's a page that Jonathan Hickman tweeted today.
  9. Just because Wiki says it doesn't make it true. Is there any reputable resurce that confirms that this is in fact the First Appearance of Spawn? Those issues that are at auction are claiming it is. Malibu Sun was a preview magazine, much like the Diamond Previews today. Spawn appeared on the front and back cover and apparently there are some pin-ups on the inside. Whether an ad or preview is considered a first appearance is left up to the individual collector.
  10. I don't see the similarities. Hawkeye was an under the radar title that built up a following as word of mouth grew about the good storyline, while All New X-Men was high profile title that was well received right from the start. As far as print run, issue 1 had a relatively low run of 41,000 copies. X-Men, on the other hand, had a large print run (181,000). Hence why Hawkeye #1 is going for $20 or more and All New X-Men #1 is selling at or slightly over cover.
  11. I talked to the owner of my LCS and they were ordering 25, which is pretty high for that store. I pre-ordered 2 and will look at adding to it once I read it.
  12. I think Eric said a few pages back that this is the "first appearance" of the current NWM. However the yearbook came out in 2010 and the appearances in Invincible 19 and 20 came out in 2004. Would the Invincible issues then be considered an early version prototype and in turn the Yearbook considered the first appearance of the current version?
  13. There are back-up stories in INV 19-20 by a different artist (Terry Stevens) from an aborted earlier version of the book. -e.s. Eric Stephenson Publisher Image Comics, Inc. www.imagecomics.com Would these two issues be considered first appearances?
  14. I sold NONE. Shop was shorted all our copies. Should have them Monday. I can't wait to read it. Riley's art screams in this larger format. His Viking & Cowboy / Ninja / Viking ruled! His Rebel Blood mini was a pretty good read and had some nice covers.
  15. As Ryan said, simply press notify button on that post and explain why you would like it removed. That should take care of it.
  16. Speaking of that I was talking to one of my LCS owners about TWD #1. He told me a horror story that made me cringe. 10 years ago he ripped the covers off 10 copies and mailed them back to Diamond... When Image Firsts came out with TWD reprint, I snagged a bunch for my wife to do this with them . I mean, how much could a $1 reprint really be worth, right?!?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/WALKING-DEAD-1-IMAGE-FIRSTS-SOLD-OUT-VARIANT-KIRKMAN-MINT-AMC-TV-ZOMBIES-/300831775418 Why on earth are those that much money? Maybe they don't know that it's a reprint?
  17. I tried reading The Red Wing and couldn't get into it. It was only a mini, but minis at Image are known to turn into ongoing, if there is enough interest, and so far his last 4 minis (Red Mass For Mars, Pax Romana, The Red Wind and Transhuman) have gone no further than 4 issues each.
  18. Boom! Hopefully that will shut some of the cry babies up about the variants. Personally I like them as it gives me something else to collect. Top notch reply +1
