  1. Must be in good condition. Will pay cash. I can provide references.
  2. I am sure this has been asked a million times, probably at least once by me already, but what sizes do you buy for normal OA and twice up art (and do they accommodate backing boards, ie. do you use backing boards when you buy the sleeves, and if so, do they fit)? Thanks in advance.
  3. Bernard Baily page from More Fun featuring the Spectre.
  4. I have never seen the cap 100 OA before. I assume it is in a private collector's hands, and I assume that is the owner is generally known in the OA community, so if it is not breaking anyone's confidence, could someone please tell me who owns this? Thanks.
  5. Do any of you more knowledgeable posters have thoughts on the Tec 36? https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=759002 I am particularly interested in whether the grade looks generous, and if it has been shopped around. Please feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance.
  6. My final bid was 20k, but the other bidder was also 20k and higher in the pecking order. This was in the final seconds of the auction and I gave up, having bid far more than i intended to. Had I bid 20.250k , or any higher increment, I might have been immediately notified I had been outbid, as I was with all my other bids. The other bidder had clearly placed a secret maximum bid that was at least 20k but may have been much higher, and I said "screw it" and dropped out. Comiclink is not like HA where they go up by minimum increments.
  7. How serious are you guys when you talk about "friends" protecting auction prices? In the last minute and a half of the auction I placed five separate bids on the Starlin battle page and drove it up enormously. Each time I thought i put in a knock out offer i was out bid by $250, so I assume there was only one other bidder (no, I did not win the piece). Someone obviously put in a really high bid as I was forced to drop out. I thought the hammer price was crazy high and have no idea how high it would have gone had i stayed in. I am not accusing Comiclink of anything and I don't have sour grapes over it, but if anyone has thoughts on that piece i would love to hear them. Feel free to PM me privately if you wish. Thanks.
  8. This was sold in a comic link auction from 2016. I can make immediate cash payment. Thanks.
  9. At the risk of asking a stupid question, how do you tell a cover has been cleaned? Does the leaning process leave residue?
  10. Does anyone have contact information for Harley Yee?
  11. Gene, any chance of getting some close ups of Becharra's booth? Thank's in advance.
  12. Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
  13. I just posted a pretty nice (at least I think so) Ditko ASM page, if anyone is interested. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1408039
  14. Just to clarify the back story, the art he is selling is not comic book art, correct?
  15. DC art show in paris Anyone have pictures? Thanks in advance.
  16. Re the ASM 29 page, I am asking on behalf of myself. I am not looking to flip it, as I think someone suggested (maybe jokingly) in a PM. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=43449
  17. Dos anyone know the current whereabouts of ASM 29, page 9. This was auctioned off at Heritage on Jan 18, 2007. http://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/steve-ditko-amazing-spider-man-29-page-9-original-art-marvel-1965-/a/823-42247.s Any response, publicly or by PM, would be much appreciated.
  18. The 113 was mine. The 139 was a retelling of Wolverine's origin, so arguably didn't fit the profile. The 112 barely made breached 20k, and I have heard some say it also has special significance. I think I paid a super high price for a page and that may have affected a few other sales. I am just not sure it is sustainable at that level. I look forward to other's comments.
  19. I don't think there are enough data points to be certain on Byrne X-Men pages at $20-$40 thousand. It only takes two bidders to drive the price up at auction. I was the first person I am aware of to pay that kind of money publicly and I'm out now at those levels for a less than A+ page. There have only been two public sales since then that I know of. They have both been in the same range. I guess what I am suggesting is that maybe there should be an asterisk by this as not yet firmly established.
  20. If anyone can tell me if the Aparo Adventure covers from his Spectre run still exist, let alone might be for sale, it would be much appreciated.
  21. Very intersting link. Gene, is there an end game for a contemporary art "investor" other than find a greater fool? Are there many documented cases of guys getting tax benefits by donating to museums, or selling their art to the company on whose board they sit? I am not talking about things like insurance fraud, but legal ways to liquidate this (sorry if this question offends anyone).
  22. Hi. Thank you so much for your post on how to store comics. Do you ever use any kind of deacidification paper. like i have been told is put into slabbed books?
  23. Hi. I came across your very informative comment on preservation, and I had a quick question. If I get 2 mil mylers, do you recommend also getting backboards? Does puttting backboards in a mylar in any way reduce the preservative properties of the mylars? (I tried to view the link to the article on preservation you provided, but the page was no longer available). Thanks in advance for any response.
