  1. My intent is to purchase Seven to Eternity #1A, first print, 9.8, CGCs, signed by Rick Remender and Jerome Opena I am slowly reading this series, I have the deluxe book, but I do not read it because my eyesight is not that good and digital is easier. I have a very large flat screen sideways that I started reading my comic books on. I am not a collector, and do understand my ability to own this comic at that rating is going to be determined on finding the right person who currently owns the book and making an offer AND timing (which is why I just want to start the clock on getting my WTB posted). I want this book to put on my wall to showcase my recent enjoyment in comic books. None of my friends or family understand why I would get into "comic books" when they read real books. They don't criticize, but they also don't see this as a serious type of reading material. At this time I do not see myself buying anything else but this one comic. Who knows? I will probably get more, there are no plans. I like the story, I like the art, I like the fact it is not a main stream product like Marvel or DC. I have zero interest in Batman, Spiderman, Superman or whatever other character that has 15,000 different story lines out each week. To me, that is a serious overflow of marketing and waters down what I enjoy. Another comic I recently liked is The Madness. I like the stories and the art and like an ending. I also liked Black Science and am reading the new ALIEN series. I have looked on eBay, looked on My Comic Shop, searched google, asked my local comic book store to help track it down, and now I am here. As I learned more about how the sales of back issue comic books work, I figured what better place to go to than where people who are constantly working with CGC to get comic books graded, signed, everything CGC has to offer. I literally read through the entire website of CGC, signed up for an account, and came straight here. A little about me, I am not a person who goes small. I already have a spot picked out, and a plan on how I am going to showcase this one comic book. This is not an investment for me so I am not looking to get the best deal, but I am also not looking to waste money either. I have no idea what type of scams this hobby has. I recently read about that guy who was replacing comics inside the holders or something like that. I have zero intentions to ever purchase comics at that level, let alone a main stream comic everyone wants. However, I know that in the end it comes down to a transaction between 2 people. My reference to Paypal is exactly what that is. We all know how that works and the protections Paypal offers. I doubt CGC offers any protection besides what mike is doing, if CGC does offer protection that is a plus. My point is, and this conversation can get deep and not my intentions to go there, the only scam I can foresee with what I want is a transaction scam either from the buyer or seller. However, whatever transaction method is used, money has to be sent, verified, then the product is shipped. Very little can go wrong here that cannot be mitigated. I have no idea what scams you guys deal with in terms of what mike was talking about and doubt any of them have anything to do with what I want to do inside the wanted section. Thank you for the input everyone.
  2. Yeah, probably so. I think at this point I am trying to figure out why I am being viewed as a hole. I will move on. Thank you...
  3. I am an electrical engineer and helped many years ago to develop software you would be familiar with. This is an avatar I like to use to remind me of that time.
  4. I don't want to disrespect anyone with my comments. However, first it was I need to make 50 posts because I am new AND I had to figure that one out on my own. There was no help from the group, no forum rules posted, I literally found that info by chance. Then it was a security risk and cgc mike doesn't like people making 50 posts specifically to get the 50 posts. I get that. However, can no one see I am excited and want to get into this community? Jesus, you make the rule, I follow it now more is put onto me to "prove" I am OK to join. What the hell kind of a welcome is that? Seriously? Now, it is because everyone needs to get to know me first before letting me buy something from the group. Seriously? What is the next reason going to be, please, someone hit me with it. What have I done besides wanting to be a part of this community? Sorry if I don't have thousands of comic books and have been doing this for 20 years and know everything I need to be doing. I have been reading digital, have some accounts with some of the Indie publishers, I love their work, I am getting into the art and writing, and now I want to buy my first back issue comic, signed, top of the line, nice, slabbed, and I am getting dumped on because I am excited and want to get it now. Who wrote this groups welcome wagon? My word, lock yourselves up into a dark room and run for your lives. There is someone here wanting to be a part of this group and all anyone can tell me is I am suspect of being a spammer, scammer, a security risk, and now I haven't proved my worth to the group. I don't even know why I am trying to be a part of this group. I guess last night when I found CGC's website I read the ENTIRE wedsite exited about this unique method of preserving the quality of the paper comic book. And here I am, a spammer and a scammer until proven otherwise. My money transfers the same exact way yours does in EVERY transaction, through Paypal or any other secure means. So how if the hell am I a scammer? This is total nonsense.
  5. I get what you are saying, but what if my contribution to the community IS buying comics from members who want to sell them. And talking to those folks. Maybe I don't want to have conversations about the 15,000 other threads people talk about. Is that specifically what every member must do to be a member here? I doubt it. I do actually want to be a part of this community, right now I am being told how I need to be a part of it as I fumble through it. getting my hand slapped while I go down the road of 50 posts in under 9 hours? What kind of security risk am I? I want to buy this comic, everybody look out for this guy, he is a buyer looking for something we sell and collect. He is suspect of being a spammer. Did anyone read any of my posts and are they "Spammy"? They are dang posts like everyone elses, literally contributing to the threads I posted to. Just because I added, I am working to get my 50 posts, I seem to have hurt some backsides. YES, I specifically wanted to get to 50 to get to the Wanted section. What is wrong with that? You offer it, I want it.
  6. Thanks to everyone for their input. Whatever the rule is I will follow it. However, there is ZERO information on said rule. I literally got an itch this week to find this specific comic to start the hunt for, then I realized there are graded comics with signatures and this company CGC. Excited, I created an account with CGC, here I am. I posted my first post, and found I could post more, so I did. Waited for the moderator to approve them. He did. Then I spent literally a few hours trying to figure out where to post a WTB. Nothing on the forums, the searches gave nothing. I found a link to a very old post through google. The people were speaking about a 50 post rule before that section is unlocked. So I started down the road to reward to unlock that section. And I made a fun game out of it. Now I am learning from a moderator I broke a rule of going after a specific reason why someone might want to be a member of this community. Do I want to go into the wanted section? Hell Yes! Will I find other areas of this forum useful, probably so. But my word, I am now being penalized for wanting to go into the wanted room first. What a grand welcome. I wonder how many members ONLY go into the wanted or sales areas of this forum, and NEVER get the ban for only wanting that? Maybe I don't want to have chit chat about comics, I do, but what if I did not? What if all I wanted was to use CGC for what they do, and talk about it inside the wanted and sales portion of this forum? Why is that bad? Maybe this forum needs someone to sit down and explain that in a sticky. New members need to give to the community before they can receive any of the benefits of being part of the community. I will wait until such time cgc mike gives me the security OK. he said a month then he will consider it. Who knows what new rule I will have to figure out on the fly. Either way, I have friends and my local comic shop that is now looking for this specific comic for me. That is ALL I want right now, and IF I decide I want more, maybe this is not the place for me, we will see in a month.
  7. I hit 50, and now have been told I will not be getting let into the WTB section because my posts are only being made to get the 50 posts. Admin has been resting the count. I was asked to get with admin in a month to see if I can be let in at that time. None of my posts broke any of the forums rules. However, I will wait a month as directed. Thank you
  8. OK, I will remind you. So you are saying my motivation and want to get to 50 posts is somehow breaking your need for security? All I want to do is post that I am looking to buy a specific CGCs comic. You have a 50 post rule, so I started down that road. Got to 50 posts, now there is another rule. Thanks for the information. have a nice day.
  9. This is my 50th post, gonna document what happens to my account after I leave this post and become a 50 post account holder. My intent was to get to 50 posts so I can leave a WTB thread in the secret hidden wanted section, not open to anyone below 50 posts. Here goes, "Submit"!
  10. The ability to make a flash bang happen at will, anywhere I can see or see in my mind. Any number, back to back, BlaAaAaAaAaAaAammmmm! Walk away from that. Or keep doing what I don't want you to do, more flash bangs coming you way, 50 in the time of 2 seconds.
  11. I am so glad they are still open, I have been leaving comments to get my post level up to 50 so I can enter the VIP wanted section of this forum. #47 of 50, almost there!
  12. wow, no one loves your baby more than you. People will treat (store) their "stuff" at their own level of competency. Thanks for the info everyone.
  13. I will never have these problems.
  14. Hi, my name is Kortoga, I am new, I own zero comic books, and have a specific comic book I want to buy for my first ever. This is posrt #42, working to #50 so I can post in the Wanted section.
  15. wow, cant wait. Oh wait, we are waiting.
  16. I think GOT is the best series show that is also the worst series show. You love until that last season and that last episode, then you hate it forever. What a let down, what a total dump storm.
  17. Watching Season 2 now, just drop it all at once!
  18. I have seen Part 1, gonna watch Part 2 soon. Never could sit through the 80s version.
  19. MI1-3 were pretty sloppy, then at MI4 they got really really good. Dead Reckoning is off the chart good.
