  1. Always good to bump TOS 39!

So why do you guys think 39 hasn't increased much over the past few years?

I thought it would have bumped up in value due to the success of the IM movies and the smash Avengers movie. Plus with the far out of reach AF 15...keys like this should get more demand but no yet it seems

What's even stranger is the fact that Iron Man 1 has gone up exponentially more than TOS 39. And while it is the cooler cover in my opinion, it is infinitely more available in all grade levels.

That's true. IM 1 has jumped in price in recent years. I still think TOS 39 will jump but I'm surprised it hasn't sooner

  3. lol

What a boring conversation guys. Seriously.

I see no problem with anyone asking for prices they hope to get. The fair market will win in the end.

But, Jerry bad mouthing Mark's pricing and Adlard's art publicly then posting cover #39 with such hyperbole is a bit funny.

I know very little about OA comic art but what I do know about art in general is that there is no guide...no rules. It's up to the buyer who wants the art bad enough. It's one of a kind. If somoene is spending $5k for a cover....so be it. That's what the market bears.

Complaining about the pricing is futile. Wait and see what happens and then jump if you get it at the price you feel comfortable or jump early on the high price to guarantee ownership.

I recently bought a Issue 11 page....ealry art doesnt come up often from what's witnessed. I paid more than I should. Oh well.

    I'm happy.

  4. Kara told me a month ago they most likely are not going to be selling WD pages anymore.

Also - in regard to that $900 ripoff by Splashpage..

yes, its a complete ripoff - the page I posted earlier yesterday I bought for $400. Less than half of what is being asked for that garbage - and its a heck of a lot nicer.

I don't think that is a fair accusation to Splashpage. First, it's his art and he can ask whatever he wants.

What you paid before for a page doesn't mean anything except that your page might be worth more now. Thank Adlard and his seller for that because as they raise prices...that helps the whole OA market (only if their stuff sells and by what I see...it's selling).

  5. Well as I thought....I should have bought the page from 105 last night that I wanted.

The picture of Carl's eye close up. It was listed for $700. I had it in my cart and never closed the deal.

    Ugh!

Page 10? the eyehole reveal? i could have sworn that was never posted

This page...I was a little drunk and about to hit buy...then I changed my mind. Now it's gone. :(

  6. I am all caught up reading all back issues of WD. My last issue is sitting on my desk...105.

I'm actually a bit sad that after this one comic I will now have to wait monthly to keep reading this epic gem.

I haven't been this into a comic series since Spidey, FF and TOS SA books.

I came across the show and comic about 3 months ago and i've been into it ever since. I am late to the party but definitely not a "jumping on the band wagon" type of person. If I didn't like it....I wouldn't stay with it.

I've done that with other moderns...I start off with them but just don't stay with them as the writing or art get boring.

WD has continued to keep me interested every comic after comic. It's actually quite amazing when you consider how long I have collected and read comics.

A big thanks to Kirkman, Tony Moore, Adlard, etc....

I am saving 105 for tonight after work.

  7.

My take would be that the two zero-feedback bidders with new accounts duking it out are shill accounts, hoping for someone else to jump on board due to all of the excitement that they are creating. The seller probably runs them both.

Sorry mate - how do you work out that this Image first TWD #1 sell is a shilling war?

Open your eyes, and I ain't your mate.

Chill out. What's with the hostility?
