And, Comiclink books that filled gaps in my run. This auction was the first time I had seen any of these come up for sale in/near my preferred 6.0 or better. I'm down to 9 books to complete the pre-hero run.
-
First off, the upgrades from my last week away. The #13 was an eBay buy, the others were Comiclink wins.
-
I wonder if you and I were bidding on any of the same books, I imagine we were. Congrats on your wins! I had to throw out some bids that were well above what I thought I would have to pay for a couple of these, but am very glad to have them. The JIMs that are upgrades for me will make my undercopies available, hopefully this weekend but more likely early next week in a sales thread (Warning: shameless plug).

Still on the road and unable to access my pics, but I’ll get caught up when I’m home in a couple days. I am happy to report a good night at the Clink auction (and a devastating one for my comic budget). Picked up six JIM I was coveting, half upgrades and half new to the run. I missed out on the pedigree #33, but didn’t really expect I’d prevail there anyway. Will also post these pics when I can.

Was yours any good?

Anyone win the TTA #15 or #17 on Clink last night? I made reasonable bids but tapped out.
-
Any word on these?

Wizard World Chicago — moved again, now Oct. 15-17, 2021

Thanks for the heads up on the date change, I had no idea it had moved again. -

I'll get there eventually. Too many irons in the fire with the budget at the moment.
-
TTA #15 is another book I have never owned.
-
Yet another thing on a comic cover I never noticed before but will never be able to un-see from now on.
-
Prior to eBay I had never seen a copy of this, so I thought it was quite difficult. Never saw one at a show I attended.
-
Ok, so I understand why some covers have people on the monster someplace when the monster has just emerged from the water or something. But why in the are people riding the back of a dangerous giant ant?
-
Never owned a #13, but saw plenty of them in the 80s and early 90s at Chicago Comicons. Never bought because I didn't see the "right" copy for a price I was happy with. Oh to have some of those chances back! This #14 is one of the first slabbed pre-hero books I bought when I got back into serious collecting in 2008ish.
-
The #11 has more defects on the back cover but is still a pretty copy. The #12 was a raw eBay purchase that I couldn't believe when it arrived.

It is a pretty good sign that a book is tough in grade when the White Mountain is an 8.0!

Glad to see we are back up and running. I’ll get my books up later!

I just keep my cats out of my office, which of course makes it the most exciting room on Earth. They have sung many songs outside that door.
