  1. Since you asked... Pretty excited about these, most of which I've owned for years. The Venom #1 Gold was a dollar box find (not by me, but I got it from the guy that got it from the guy who did). (Sorry, grabbed it on my iPhone and it isn't as sharp as I'd like...)
  2. Verified 9/7 Scheduled for grading 9/18 Graded 9/19 QC 9/25 Shipped/safe 9/26 (very pleased with the grades too!) Now I can go back to being a somewhat productive human being.
  3. Must have refreshed that screen 100 times already today.
  4. Value received Economy verified 9/26 Modern received
  5. You'll enjoy the show. I set up as Paleo Comics, and I'll have a good selection of Spawn on hand. Not sure about food, but I'd guess there'll be something.
  6. Verified 9/7 Scheduled for grading 9/18 Graded 9/19 QC 9/25
  7. I went during their first year, and I didn't feel like I got value out of a $30 Sunday ticket. It was a good enough show, and I got to do plenty of box diving and had fun, but I can't say the show really impressed me. Planet is the much larger show and more of a "destination show" to me now that I have seen them both.
  8. Looking forward to the show too! I'll be set up as well!
  9. That's a sad trend with these Wizard shows. Hopefully the move to smaller towns and somewhat lower booth fees will reverse that trend a bit.
  10. Glad you can twiddle patiently. Mine are all keepers too, but the suspense on grades is killing me!
  11. Thanks for the reply... appreciate it! FYI, with Baltimore this weekend we probably won't see any movement on subs until Monday or Tuesday. I've got a batch sitting at Graded as well, so I'm in the same boat.
  12. About two months away. The guest list is pretty solid as far as celebs go, but the comic side is pretty weak. Stan Lee cancelling will not help ticket sales... I miss the glory days of this show, it used to be a lot of fun.
  13. This is one of those Clink auctions where I could hurt myself. There are at least a dozen books I would take a run at if I had the budget. We'll see how many I go after...
  14. Verified 9/7 Scheduled for grading 9/18 Graded 9/19
  15. Just bought a low grade Planet #71 and midgrade Dr Strange #169 from Travis, and the transaction was flawless! Fast shipping, great packaging, I'd definitely do business with him again!
  16. My boxes are alphanumeric and bagged/boarded, with plenty of books at $1 apiece. It'd be difficult to make that work with 50 cent boxes...
  17. They've started onsite grading at C2E2, so I'd bet the extra personnel they'll need there will make a third show that weekend unlikely. Too bad they picked San Jose over Dallas. Maybe we'll get lucky.
  18. Just find out who is facilitating for CGC at the show and coordinate with them BEFORE you get a book signed. If CGC is there then get a witness to help you.
  19. I paid about a grand for my 7.5 #6, so yeah, I would say that that is a good deal. You just never know what will happen in auctions, and I knew I was probably overpaying but nice #6s don't exactly grow on trees and that was the first one I had seen in a while. I know I have done well on other books, so hopefully it has all evened out... That's the thing with pre-hero collecting, they seem to come in bunches when I have no money! There will be nothing you need for months, then an auction pops up with like 4-5 books you covet. It makes budgeting as a collector very difficult. If the last few years are any guide, it would seem that some long-time collectors are divesting and it will present an opportunity for the next generation like us to get a few nice books.
