  1. I'll be setting up at Air Capital in Wichita that weekend. There is also now a Wizard show down the road in Springtield, MO scheduled for that weekend too. It'll be interesting to see how all these shows do.
  2. Ok, good to know. I would have greatly preferred the 16-19 dates they posted originally, but at least we know now. Wizard won't answer that question themselves. Kind of lousy to solicit booth deposits from dealers using multiple printed schedules with the wrong dates.
  3. Great question. They must think that this smaller market plan is their path to salvation and profitability, as they're doubling down on it with Peoria, IL; Springfield, MO; Biloxi; etc.
  4. Not sure what shows/dates on that list they circulated are inaccurate. Could be one, could be all.
  5. So far nobody has said that exactly. It was on their Twitter feed, but they won't answer direct questions.
  6. You made the argument I was thinking, and much more eloquently than I would have.
  7. Now Wizard has responded on FB, but only to say the blue list I posted above, THAT THEY CIRCULATED LIKE 5 DAYS AGO, is inaccurate. No other details offered.
  8. Queries by me and others on Wizard's FB page are being ignored. Starting to wonder if the 2018 Wizard schedule is stored on the Flying Dutchman for future delivery by Bigfoot riding Nessie.
  9. They haven't typically attended the smaller FE shows in Irving, but it would sure be nice if that would change.
  10. Pretty much what I said. They are really starting to get down to the C and D level cities/towns. No offense to any Peorians (Peoriites?) intended, but Peoria would not have made my list of markets that Wizard needed to move into in an effort to stop the bleeding.
  11. I'm hearing that the booming metropolis of Peoria, Illinois will be the next town to get a new 2018 Wizard show. Edit: dates posted, and they're shoehorning it into 2017 And...now it's postponed. Home Page
  12. I know I'm already looking forward to next year. Even though our sales weren't what we had hoped, it is always a good time and I always manage to find great books to buy here. And Chicago rules.
  13. It is interesting that this thread got more looks and significantly more posts than the 2017 SDCC thread did. That alone speaks to how much love there is for this show among the CGC boards.
  14. Hopefully they knew to sell all their stock first!
  15. The stock is sure getting hammered. It is down 39% today! I haven't heard any new news that would cause this...
  16. Fantastic book! It was great getting to chat with you guys at the dinner!
  17. This sums things up pretty well from my perspective too. It was still a good buying show, just not the tremendous buying opportunity that we got in previous editions. I'll still look forward to next year (assuming it happens).
  18. This, and about half a short box of cheap stuff.
  19. Saw this on Twitter: This was handed out to dealers:
  20. I found a few at WW Chicago but nothing earth-shattering. I'll post them when I get them home.
  21. Now I'm hearing that the dates are changing to August 23-26, which would put us in the same boat as this year's less that stellar dates. They put the 16-19 dates in every daily update to the dealers, so who knows. I guess we will see what they put on the website if/when they publish the 2018 schedule.
  22. All true, but why do dealers risk $1,500 for next year based on these results? I highly doubt we'll set up again, and we had a nice 2016 for sales. And this is assuming they're still solvent. With the thinner crowd their ticket sales were not good and they had to refund a bunch of Tennant money.
