As always, mileage will vary on these things. If I did care about Liefeld I wouldn't now that his auto prices have gotten out of hand. Capullo and Snyder have been making the rounds, and I was at about three different shows that their tour stopped at last year (I got any autos I wanted at Planet Con in KC). Quesada and Kubert don't move the needle for me, but I know they do for others. So for me, the guest list wasn't exciting. Maybe I am just old. You're definitely right about the problem of # of attendees relative to how much they spend with vendors. We're finding an inverse relationship between attendance and profitability, to be honest. The bigger the show, the higher the booth fees and other costs and the fewer the comic buyers. Meanwhile, smaller shows have been much more profitable. Fewer people, but they are all there to buy comics.

Took these photos last weekend at a dealer table, he is one of the few dealers I know that understands and appreciates DCUs. I bought the 1996 set, but left the others even though they were very fairly priced. I figured I would post the photos here for research purposes (they'll be front and back of each set). Sorry about the rotation of the photos, they weren't rotated on my PC but unfortunately iPhone photos always want to do this (my least favorite feature). -
Midnight Mystery #5 VG -- asking $5 + shipping Looks more like F/VF, but weird damage at the bottom of the book. Heavy distributor ink plus some short and clean cuts through the whole book. None of the art or story is affected, and book is completely readable. Very odd pattern of defects. Perfect reader though.

Not to mention that he would need two different sized left shoes. -
