  1. Tales of the Unexpected #52 VG++ -- asking $55 + shipping Another solid book. Minor spine wear and lower right corner wear. Small hole in spine at creature's wrist. Cover and centerfold are well attached at both staples.
  2. Tales of the Unexpected #51 VG+ -- asking $45 + shipping Another solid book. Distributor ink stains at top and bottom of back cover, these bleed onto pages but do not come close to the art. Chip at top edge was just a bit of overhang that was folded under, it is present and attached. Centerfold detached at lower staple only, still attached up top. Cover attached at both.
  3. Tales of the Unexpected #50 VG/F -- asking $49 + shipping Great color and gloss, and everything is well attached. 3/4" tear at top spine, light crease in lower right. Otherwise a pretty copy.
  4. Tales of the Unexpected #47 VG-/VG -- asking $45 + shipping Full page ad for Brave & the Bold #28. Typical VGish book, spine and edge wear. Everything is attached at both staples.
  5. Tales of the Unexpected #41 VG/VG+ -- asking $89 + shipping 2nd Space Ranger story. Solid copy that would be closer to Fine/Fine+ if not for that upper edge. There is a small piece of tape on the inside cover holding that remaining piece. Cover and centerfold well attached.
  6. Reopening this thread, with a lot of deeply discounted raw 10 cent DCs that I have offered here previously (though the discounts are much higher than previously offered). I will also be tacking on newly CGC graded books as well, most from this collection. The recap with new discounts will be below, under my rules. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ rules the day, either via PM or in the public thread. Any time a book sells I will update the thread ASAP. Timestamp, as best I can determine, will decide the winner. In the case of a near tie the public thread taker is the winner. Offers via PM are most welcome, but if a book is taken outright during negotiations then that book is sold. Paypal, checks, and MOs are accepted. International buyers must pay via Paypal in US $. Shipping is at cost to wherever you are, and must be trackable. All efforts will be made to ship as inexpensively but safely as possible. Returns on raw books are accepted. Return shipping is on me if I made some significant mistake or omission, but otherwise it is on the buyer. Books left available, with new prices! If it is not listed here, it is no longer for sale. 7. Not the only book to see that sort of spread. That is the world in which we live.
  8. Thanks for sharing. I’ve got two crossover invoices in myself.
  9. The revenue isn’t lost, it simply doesn’t belong to them unless they legislate to seize more of it.
  10. The pre-hero JIMs got strong prices that would have been stronger if I was in a position to bid.
  11. More than at many past shows in Irving, with a few dealers I hadn’t seen there previously. Assuming they can be attracted back it’s great to see that material.
  12. I saw a post on Facebook that the promoter is looking to grow the show long term like the Oafcon model. I guess we’ll see if that’ll work. I liked the vibe of the show a lot, I’m just not sure that it needs to be in a large convention center space if this is the type of show the promoter is aiming for. I do think there would be room for a show like this in the area, as the typical con in the area won’t always hit the sweet spot for an advanced collector.
  13. No word yet. I’ll definitely post them.
  14. Saturday was also quite sparse. It looked like the majority of the attendees lined up for Steranko, and I’m glad he did well. Five years sounds about right for his last appearance in Dallas.
  15. Guest announcements have started popping up on Facebook...
  16. See below. Can't argue with any of that. Plus there had been a show in the same building a week prior. Plus the promoter may not have advertised as well as they could have. But yes, I think saturation has set into the DFW market a bit. I read on Facebook where someone had counted 48 conventions in the DFW area this year. Maybe not all of them were strict comic shows, but even if half would overlap with comic fandom you can see how budgets could be stretched awfully thin.
  17. I was there with my brother for about 90 minutes Saturday and then Sunday morning until about 10:30. We mainly went so he could get a couple of Steranko signatures, but we also wanted to check out the show. Word was that only about 200 tickets were sold. Unfortunately the crowd looked like that was accurate. There was an amazing guest list, and great books in the room, but with that small of a crowd I’d be surprised to see another of these shows. I can’t imagine that too many people, including the promoter, made much money from that thin crowd.
  18. JIM #20 always feels a bit prototypish to me in terms of the later "monster of the month" era.
  19. Just got these in hand from @catrick339's last sales thread.
  20. I messaged OAF to see if they have an idea on 2019 dates. we can make it.
