Agree take the money and run. Where was the fan base before the movie announcement?
Agree with this...I know I may be different, but if I wasn’t interested in a character when I was a kid, it does nothing for me now...full disclosure, I don’t sell and only occasionally buy back issues...just because a movie is introduced doesn’t change my buying habits...I understand if you are a dealer but don’t if you are just a collector...

First told origins...first cover appearance...second appearance?...maybe...

Ka-Zar was in Marvel Comics 1 (1939), right along with Sub-Mariner and the Human Torch. He was introduced in the pulps 3 years earlier. The All-Story, a pulp magazine with a comic-like cover introduced Tarzan, the first "comic-like" appearance in Oct. 1912, a few months after he was introduced in hardcover form.
Good info...
Without googling, wasn't Sub-Mariner around a few months prior to Marvel Comics #1?
-
Was reading an article and learned that Ka-Zar has been around longer than Sub-Mariner or any other character in Marvel Comics...started buying comics in 1980 and never knew this.

Congrats!...that is one gorgeous book.

I would send it to Joey just for that bottom right edge...if it gets a bump great, if it doesn’t it will fix that ugly bend anyway.
-
If you are talking about the BL corner, I think it could be a bindry chip...not sure though.
-
I wouldn't...throw it in a mylar with a halfback and be done with.
-
Good luck...read the sales rules...

TOD 10 9.4 W $4000 sold...wow...and $30 shipping to boot.

Thanks Bob...I think it was a stock photo...I wouldn’t desire a faded comic was just wondering how bad it would get hammered if structurally it was perfect.

I mean the dudes asking me to tell him like I have the formula for how CGC will bump down the grade like if its structurally 10 what does that even mean a CGC graded 10 book is not just about structure its about production flaws etc..
I asked your opinion...I thought you might have some insight on it...I guess not.

It really depends on the severity of the fading it could be a from a point to a few points as the cover is a more significant factor into the grade of the book and colours and if the whole cover is faded or sections which area as they also consider the overall appearance of the book as well. So it could be a wide range.
I know it depends on severity, but I’m asking about this specific example.

sorry I am not understanding your question?
How bad would CGC dock the grade for the fading?

Kind of related but opposite...I traded all my baseball cards for a couple of boxes of comics in 1980 at 12 years old...my card collection included 9 Nolan Ryan rookie cards that were worth around $12 a piece at the time...Can’t remember a single specific comic I received in that trade...got me in to comic collecting but i still regret it to this day...

Replying to Miraclemet
Evidently you didn’t read my OP...it mentions local pick up in Dallas/Ft Worth...also it mentions that I know a lot of work will have to be done...if the post is breaking the rules please let me know...i expected if anyone is serious they will PM me and ask for additional pics if not I’ll just keep it...have had most of this collection well over thirty years...what’s another 30?...also, I’m a pretty strict grader and I would say conservatively 18-20k is the floor if sold piece by piece...it may be an opportunity for someone...by the way I have slabbed high grade copies of everything I’m asking for except the Thor...

Should this grade be higher?

If you can see white in a NCBC it's not a NCBC... unless it's a white cover of course...you can clearly see the white and my eyes suck...
