  1. Kind of related...I bought an OO collection in the mid ‘90s...had numerous books from the collection graded...one came back as Amateur Color Touch...I couldn’t find it and I think if it was there it was an accident, dropped sharpie or marker maybe...I know he wouldn’t have done as he was very meticulous with his books...who knows, I sold it and moved on from it...yours is an interesting case if truly bought off the rack...you must be a bit older than I am...

I am not the most prolific collector but I get it as well. It has always been hard for me to let things go but this year I sold a bunch of books and  it didn't bother me one bit. I enjoy some comic art and unique items but I am not sure what to do with the X-men #1 that is just sitting in a box. Just owning them doesn't real bring joy anymore.

Ive always wanted to collect cover art and splash pages myself...way to rich for my blood...

  3. More power to them...that’s insane...I still have one of the 2 copies I bought off the rack...Me and a buddy of mine combined to buy another friend’s collection for $5000 total in’95 but he wouldn’t include his Spider-Man collection with it...we even offered more money...AF 15, probably a 3.0, ASM 1-200 complete...don’t know how many raws fit in a short box but he had one 2/3 full of ASM 300...he bought out a collection from someone at the Dallas comic con in the early 90s...oddly enough he had like 50 copies of DD 158 also...wish I had the cash to make it worth his while back then but my wife wanted to kill me as it was...sorry for the TLDR...

  4. I’ve only been collecting since ‘80...I have had the exact epiphany...I just sold a few comics to get one I’ve wanted for awhile...also paid for all the Xmas presents going to my wife and a new mossberg shockwave, and still had a couple of grand left over...actually felt better than I thought it would...gonna go from 7 long boxes down to one short box of graded keys...get ready sales forum...

  5. First time sales thread...haven’t sold on eBay in awhile but have over 400 transactions as d3lathouder...have traded or bought many times on the board...returns on slabs probably not gonna happen but I’m willing to discuss on a case by case basis...all prices include shipping within the United States...

First take it or similar gets the prize...no probies or HOS members...bullet proof packaging included...

  6. CGC made me realize I shouldn’t have manhandled my comics as a teen...as a 12 year old in 1980 through the end of the decade I paid almost no attention to condition as I would routinely roll the pages behind the book as I read them...so in short, I agree CGC has influenced me way more than movies...of course this is all probably age related.

  7. Besides The 1st 48 issues of TWD I haven’t read a comic in 25 years...so here it goes in no specific order...also have not read much DC so it will seem Marvel heavy.

Superboy, Supergirl, Super Dog etc..meh, Not a huge Supes fan but I respect the originality and history.

Moonknight...loved some of the early art and his look...Marvel knockoff of Batman IMO.

Hercules, Thor and all of Asgard...just not original.

Black Panther...never liked him as a kid, always compared him to Luke Cage rightfully or not...give me Power Man.

Iron Man...never liked the idea that ALL his powers came from technology.

good idea...could probably list 10 more.
